Once she had the ashtray out, Tammy wasted no time pulling out her blunt to spark.
“So you said you saw Devin?” I finally asked.
“Girl yes, I saw his bum ass. He introduced me to some bitch he calling his fiancé. Crazy part is the broad looks just like you.” She rolled her eyes.
“I am not surprised…I sensed that his ass was cheating. I just never cared enough to go digging.” I shrugged.
I really wasn’t bothered by Devin. If anything, it was closure.
“His friend Tray inboxed me asking for your number… I blocked his ol’ Terrance Crawford looking ass. Nigga fine but gives off SA vibes with them sneaky cat eyes.” Tammy frowned her face up.
I looked at her as she puffed on her blunt and busted out laughing.
“Tammy, I swear you so fuckin’ stupid.” I giggled each word out.
“Girl, then! I went on his page before I blocked him. Nigga got all kinds of nasty memes of big girls on there. He has an onlyfans too. So, I subscribed just to unsubscribe. I wanted to see what the nigga was working with.” She blew smoke through her nose.
“And what is he working with?” I asked, anxiously wanting to know.
“A shrimp dick that ain’t even circumcised.”
We both howled loud as hell. I clutched my stomach leaned over and laughed.
“Tammy, please stop.” I gasped for air.
“Girl that inspired me to block his ass and I even disputed the small charge with my bank. Nigga wasn’t worth the dollars chii.” She waved her hand.
“Girl, I knew his freaked out ass wanted me. He used to lick his lips and openly stare at me with lust right in front of Devin’s bitch ass.” I shook my head.
“I can’t believe his small balls having ass had the nerve to hit me out of all people asking for your number. I told him to ask ya bestie Devin bitch.”
I laughed and sighed because Devin was so dumb he didn’t even realize that his closest friend was a snake. He hadn’t bothered to reach out to me after he caught Dreu in my bed. He probably went around bragging to everybody how he used to date the woman that’s with Big D.
“Fuck dodging a bullet with Devin, you dodge a whole missile.” She said flatly.
“I know.” I rolled my eyes but smiled anyway. It was simply the way Tammy worded things that made it sound comical although it was real spill.
“No, you don’t know,” Tammy rolled her eyes back at me. “You was too busy trying to make that dead end work. Devin was never confused about shit; the nigga was too comfortable.”
That hit hard. I watched her lean back and take a long pull from her blunt.
“You would’ve kept shrinking to fit him. I seen it and it pained me. No matter how much shit I talked, you kept going along with him. I don’t want to see you in that type of space again.” Her voice was calmer now.
“I was settling and using my depression as an excuse.” I uttered softly.
Tammy looked around the room with adoration and warmth in her eyes.
“Now look at you.” She smiled.
My chest tightened because it felt like a wow moment between the both of us.
“I can tell that Dreu is gonna give the kind of soft life every woman dreams about.”
“Tam—”
“No,” she cut me off gently. “I’m serious as hell, Tav. The way he looked at you…the way this house feels sitting in it. I can feel the love. I looked in his eyes and could see it. I ain’t saying that shit gone be perfect all the time. But it’s definitely gonna be worth it.”
The smile on Tammy’s face was contagious.
