“What about Kamila? I like our trio and I don’t want our relationship to ruin that.”
Ana rubs her hand on my chest, and I feel my neck heating.
“I already spoke to Kamila, and she was worried about that too. Still, I promised her, and now I’m promising you that no matter what happens, I want you guys to stay friends. Hopefully, all of us can stay friends. I’m never going to hurt you intentionally, and I wouldn’t have asked you this if she felt uncomfortable about it.”
That explains Kami’s weird behavior in the cafeteria. She’s probably nervous about the same things that I am. Should I really take this chance? She’s a great sister to Kami. We’re close friends, and I think my parents will like her. It seems like something is still holding me back, though.
I look back down at Ana, who has gotten even closer to me. “I’ll say yes, on one condition.”
“Name it.”
“We cannevermake Kamila feel like the third wheel. Well, almost never. It’s bound to happen at least once. We will have our alone time to do…things, but the three of us remain close friends. We still do our regular activities together as a group and we don’t becomethat couplethat makes out in front of everyone. Deal?”
Ana smiles, stands on her tiptoes, and puts both her arms around my neck. “Deal.”
Leaning down, she gives me a light kiss on the lips. I pull away, satisfied with the simple kiss. Ana apparently isn’t. She grabs my cheeks and tugs my lips to hers again, deepening the kiss. A small moan escapes her, and now I’m in a highly uncomfortable situation when it comes to being in public. I’m not sure if it’s my raging teenage hormones or if I already have some sort of feelings towards this girl, but when her second moan reaches my lips, I’m a goner.
I’m brought back to the present when there’s a loud knock on my door. I let out a groan, not wanting to deal with anyone. The knocking continues.
“I’ll be there in a second!” Fucking people. Looking for the closest pair of sweatpants, I don’t bother putting a shirt on to greet my annoying guests. I open the door and look down.
Well, fuck me.
Chapter Seven
KAMILA
Cameron’s standing in the doorway to his room shirtless, and for a moment, I’m face to face with his abs. Abs that weren’t as prominent the last time I saw him half-naked.
“What the fuck could you possibly want?” His words cause me to flinch. “Haven’t you done enough for today?”
Uh-oh. I did leave a bruise, and there’s some swelling. Honestly, it could’ve been worse if I had put my full strength behind it.
“And who the hell are they, your bodyguards?” he mocks.
Em and Levi are standing on either side of me. They both have their arms crossed over their chest, trying to look as intimidating as possible. Levi is tall and muscular. Meanwhile, Em is only five feet tall, but the girl can deliver a death stare that I would never want to be on the receiving end of, which she is now giving Cameron.
Not helping.
“We’re her friends, and we came as a precaution,” Levi warns.
Cameron laughs humorlessly. “Seriously? If anything, you should be worried about her attacking me.”
He’s not wrong.
“I deserved that and a lot more,” I admit, twisting my fingers together.
“A hell of a lot more,” he says.
Ignoring his snarky comment, I focus on what I had come here to do. “Look, Cameron, I’m here to apologize. Please just hear me out even though I know I don’t deserve it.”
He looks up at the ceiling, closes his eyes, and lets out a deep breath. “Make them leave and I’ll give you five minutes of my time.”
“Oh, hell no,” Em sasses. “I do not trust you at all, not with the way you greeted her.”
“Agreed,” Levi says in a deep voice.
“Fine, then goodbye.”
