That much Xia would make sure of...well, not her dead body, of course...the testing part.

Rex

Rex’s private beachvilla, The Pearl Paradise Beach Resort, Madeira Island...

“Ah, you finally arrived.I started wondering if you got lost.”Rex’s voice floated toward her from where he lounged on the chaise lounge next to the pool. His gaze traipsed over Xia’s curves as she spun to face him.The taut lines of her body portrayed her vex, coaxing a broad smile from his lips.“Or that you perhaps decided to ditch your responsibility and return home.”

Her lips flatline.Ah, the little subby was definitely annoyed. The question was whether it was because she woke up alone in his private cabin, or whether she had been informed of one of her duties while on the island. He suspected it was a combination of both.

“I am not a quitter, Mr.Oliver, no matter how much of an asshat my employer is.”Her chin lifted defiantly.“Except if I read the message wrong.Just say the word, Master R.I’d be too happy to return to the position I was originally appointed for.I found I still have the knack to mix a mean martini.”

“That’s true,” Master Coop chipped in.“I watched her and I have to say, her hands paint a symphony when she mixes drinks.”

Rex frowned at the way Cooper’s eyes glimmered as he looked at Xia.Admiration weaved with a flash of desire he recognized all too well.Cooper had joined him and Axel many times for some licentious foursomes.

He didn’t like the CDS Club Manager lusting after his wife whisperer. Not one bit.

Selfish bastard, his conscience berated him.You don’t want her, and she’s a hot little piece of ass.Why not let him?

Rex had no answer.Mainly because it wasn’t true.He did want her.Well...physically at least. She was hotter than hell in bed, and as a submissive, she stroked the demon inside him like no other.

Except it didn’t matter. He had made up his mind about the time frame to obtain a wife.Even if he had the notion of giving a relationship a try with her, it would never work.Rex wasn’t one to abstain, and with her in Hawaii for two years would mean seeing her potentially once every couple of months. That would never work.He would end up fucking a sub, and that meant cheating.Rex wasn’t a cheating man.Once he committed to one woman, that was it.Exclusivity was key to every relationship he had ever had.It would be no different with his potential wife.

No, stick to the plan, Rex, my man. She’s only here to help you find your perfect wife.

Yeah...keep telling yourself that, the voice mocked him once again. He adroitly ignored it.

“For now, you’re exactly where you need to be, doing exactly what your new function requires,” he grunted, irritated with himself. The unfeminine snort drifting from her lips amused him to no end.Xia Foster annoyed was a delightful sight.“However, I am going to prefer alone time with my potential wives at times, which will offer you adequate opportunity to indulge in barkeeping duties and playing in the dungeon.”

“I’ll have you know, Sir, that I do not appreciate being passed back and forth, so do not blame me if you end up with the wrong wife.”

One eyebrow curved into a question mark while humor glimmered in his eyes.“And why is that, subbie?”

“Well, not knowing what is expected from me one minute from the next would mean I might lose focus and miss very important signs.”

“Hmm...so, you would prefer to stick by my side 24/7.”He tapped his fingers while studying her with amusement.“Very well.I have no qualms about you watching me scene and fuck them, so, from now on, you will have front seat views.”He glanced at Cooper.“Please arrange for a comfortable recliner chair to be brought to my bedroom. We can’t expect my wife whisperer to be sitting upright the entire night.”

“E-Entire night?”

“Of course. When I take a sub, especially a potential wife to my bed, it will be a full night marathon.”

“Freaking rotten bear balls,” she muttered softly.

“What was that, Xia?”He pretended to frown while he struggled to hold back a laugh since he heard her well enough.“I warned you that I don’t appreciate mumbling.

“I said, I’d better be getting paid overtime.”

Startled Trocaz pigeons burst from a nearby dragon palm in a flutter of slate-grey wings with their distinctive, white-banded tails flashing in the Atlantic sun as Rex’s laughter boomed across the terrace. They scattered with affronted coos, wheeling out over the clifftop gardens before disappearing into the laurel forest below.

“Master Coop, I’ll leave you in charge to ensure that Ms.Foster gets properly compensated for overnight evaluations while we’re here.”

“Of course, Master R.”

Nodding, Rex gestured to the house.“There are four bedrooms.Feel free to pick whichever one...except for the master bedroom, of course.”

“Of course,” Xia mumbled as she stomped through the wide-open sliding door.“We wouldn’t want the potentials to feel slighted.”

Rex couldn’t help the feeling of delight flooding his mind.Xia’s open irritation felt too much like jealousy.
