Those big blue eyes widened, then turned soft. “There’s nothing risky about how I’m feeling. I’ve never been so sure about anything in my life.”

He cupped Elliot’s cheek, studying him. For the first time since Kevin died, he’d woken up filled with a sense of peace. Fuck, since he’d met Elliot, he looked forward to waking up.

“We can make love any way you want. As many times as you want. Anywhere you want.”

“Is that a promise or a threat?” Elliot’s eyes danced. “I’m sensing a challenge.”

“What do you think?”

Elliot smiled and kissed him.

“I can’t remember the last time I’ve spent the day so disconnected. It’s freeing.” Win tucked his phone into his jeans pocket. “We should do this more often.”

Elliot’s head emerged from his T-shirt. “What, spend the entire day in bed? I’m up for it. Three times and counting might be a record for me.”

Win snickered, his gaze sweeping over Elliot’s body. “You sure are. But save some for later. Right now I’m starving. What do you say we go to mine and have a barbecue? We can make a run to the store and pick up what we need.”

Elliot’s eyes lit up. “I’d love it.” They tramped downstairs, and Win waited for Elliot to grab his keys. “Lazy days spent together are my favorite thing to do.”

Hand in hand, they walked down the steps of Elliot’s front porch and crossed the short expanse of lawn to his. “I thought it was s’mores, movie nights, and long walks on the beach.”

Elliot stopped in his tracks. “What’re you talking about?”

Ah, shit.

This wasn’t the time or place he’d wanted to tell Elliot he’d seen his list, but he had an inkling that no matter when it happened, Elliot wouldn’t be happy.

“I guess it’s confession time. Let’s sit.” He motioned to the front steps of his house.

“No, I’m okay.” Pale, Elliot wet his lips. “What do you mean, ‘confession time’?”
