He tasted like forever.

“Zach.” Sam’s strangled voice coupled with the warning trembles beneath his lips and fingers signaled Sam’s impending orgasm. With one final suckle and kiss, Zach withdrew and sat back on his heels. The hardened expression Sam normally wore like a mask had slipped, exposing a vulnerability Zach hadn’t counted on.

“I—I want you.” He licked his lips, and Zach’s cock jerked in response. “Inside me.”

Excitement shot up Zach’s spine, his blood running hotter than ever before, but he faltered. “I’ve never…”

“Yeah?” Sam quirked a brow. “Good.” And he smiled broadly, reaching out his hand. Zach took it, and Sam yanked him down for another bruising kiss.

“Where are your condoms?” Zach hardly recognized the commanding voice as his own, but today was a day full of change, and this was another step in his metamorphosis.

“Drawer,” said Sam, voice raspy with need.

Zach scrambled to the night table drawer and pulled out a strip of condoms and bottle of lube. He scooted back to Sam and with shaking fingers, ripped the foil and rolled the condom down on his cock, then drizzled lube over it. Sam opened his legs, offering himself up, and with the utmost care Zach pushed himself inside Sam’s body, inch by inch. The sensation was unexpected: like sinking into a soft, suede-like fire clutching his cock. He couldn’t hold back his groan of satisfaction.

“God,” said Zach. “Goddamn.” His hands gripped Sam’s hips, then skated up his ribs and chest. “This is…amazing

Zach held on to Sam’s shoulders, angling his body, leaning his torso almost flush against Sam’s chest, the penetration so deep and overwhelming he began to shake from the fire building inside him. He rolled his hips, thrusting deep, as the sweat dripped off his body, mixing with Sam’s.

“Harder,” Sam said, gasping for air as Zach pumped inside him. Slippery fluid leaked from Sam’s rigid cock trapped between his stomach and Zach’s. Zach closed his eyes to ride the rising wave of hunger inside him.

“Open your eyes.” Sam heaved upward to meet his thrusts.

The exquisite pleasure-pain of pressure on his cock submerged Zach into an almost somnambulant state. Feeling as if he was drugged, Zach opened his eyes to find Sam’s piercing gaze fixed on him. Zach’s breath caught in his throat; Sam was so happy, the wary look in his eyes wiped clean, rendering him years younger. Unable to resist the teasing smile on Sam’s lips, Zach laced his fingers through Sam’s and captured Sam’s mouth. Their teeth clashed and tongues slipped and slid against each other. They broke apart, Sam whispering against Zach’s lips. “You’re mine.”

His heart lurched with happiness, beating a furious tempo. He could only kiss Sam again until they had to break for air.

Zach reached in between their bodies and grasped Sam’s cock in his hand, rolling his thumb over the head, smearing the fluid leaking from the slit. Sam groaned and tightened his inner muscles around Zach’s cock.

With another roll of his hips, Zach thrust deep within Sam, while at the same time squeezing his dick. His breath caught in his throat, the waves of hot pleasure radiating through him from every nerve ending.

His eyes shut tight, Sam shuddered and groaned, spilling his release over Zach’s fingers. Zach stiffened and pulsed hot and hard inside Sam’s passage, then sagged against Sam’s chest, his body limp and boneless. Plastered with sweat, they lay together, Zach’s face buried in the curve of Sam’s neck. Eventually, he softened, and pushed up and off Sam’s chest to lie next to him. Zach’s hands trembled while removing and disposing of the condom and he took a few gulps of much-needed air to stop his head from spinning. After crawling back into bed, he splayed his hand over Sam’s chest, the rapid beat of Sam’s heart beneath his fingers settling down to its normal rhythm.

“Mine,” Zach whispered to Sam before they slept.

“Are you sure you don’t mind? I feel funny arriving separately.” Zach fiddled with his tie. He hated wearing formal clothes, but Julian had hired a professional photographer for the party and wanted to take pictures of not only himself and Nick, but he insisted Zach and Marcus come early to have their pictures taken as well.

“Don’t be ridiculous, I don’t mind at all.” Sam brushed aside his concerns, lounging on the bed. “It’ll give me a chance to get to know your mom better.”

With a final tug at the tie, Zach scowled at the mirror. “I hate wearing ties; I feel like I can’t breathe.”

“You look pretty hot, not gonna lie.” Sam met his eyes in the mirror. “Although I like you better out of the clothes than in them.”

And much as he loved Julian and Nick, Zach yearned to be alone with Sam even more. Wistfully, he glanced down at the bed, wishing he could join Sam. The pull to touch him ran hot like a fire through his bloodstream. “I, uh…” Zach licked his lips. “I have to go. You’ll be there at six, right? My mom will be back from the beauty parlor in an hour, and that’ll give you guys plenty of time to get to the loft.”

Sam jumped off the bed and pulled him in close for a kiss. “Stop worrying, everything will be fine.”

And for once, Zach didn’t think twice, falling into Sam’s strength. “Okay,” he said, his mouth hovering over Sam’s. “I trust you.”

Three quarters of an hour later he entered Julian and Nick’s loft, amazed at its transformation. A bar had been set up by the expanse of windows, and long rectangular tables flanked the wall, set with snowy-white tablecloths. Servers waited patiently behind a line of silver chafing dishes to dish out the delicious-smelling food.

Julian, spotting him from across the room, beckoned. “Zach, come.” Nick and his entire family congregated around him, along with his assistant, Melanie. Several of Nick’s work colleagues were there, as well as the young recovering burn victims Julian had featured in his fashion show this past winter.

Zach passed them by, giving them a brief smile if they recognized him. He didn’t expect them to, as he’d made only a brief appearance at Julian’s show. When he reached the small circle of Nick and Julian’s family, Julian hugged him, his breath sweet from the champagne.

“Can you believe it? I’m getting married.”

A lump formed in Zach’s throat; he couldn’t help the rush of emotion at his friend’s happiness. He knew he was a sentimental softie like Marcus teased him. But he also knew how long Julian had loved Nick and thought he was gone forever. Zach’s happily-ever-after quotient filled to overflowing, and he blinked furiously, tears wetting his lashes.
