“Well, I just got off the phone with the homicide captain. He gave me the name of the case that Aaron Figueroa was working.”

They both held their breaths.

It was time to see if they were right.

Something.

Was.

Fishy.

Here.

As soon as Greyson said the name, they knew they’d gotten a big piece of this case, and now, they only had to run with it.

“Jaden Mendin’s homicide was the last thing Aaron Figueroa was working on before his untimely death. Sound familiar?”

Hot.

Freaking.

Damn.

It appeared that they were right, and Ethan’s hunch had paid off.

“So, the Fed was investigating the cop’s death, and the cop was investigating Jaden’s death. Now, we have the big question as to who the hell is Jaden Medin, and what does all of this mean?” Greyson asked.

That was the first question, and they were willing to bet it would take them down a rabbit hole before they even got all the answers.

Call it a hunch.

While they didn’t know, one thing was for sure. They were on the trail, and before this vacation was over, they’d have an answer.

The killer hadn’t been as sneaky as they thought.

He’d left a trail.

For them to follow, and that was what they did best.

Curiosity killed the boss, and for Gabe Rothschild, he always knew when someone was lying.

Every.

Single.

Time.

While every Fed had their own unique superpower, like Elizabeth could solve just about anything, and Gene could wrangle and tame the Blackhawk beast, he could feel a lie being thrown at him.

Like now.
