I gave him my brightest smile and sashayed over to him with a little more sway to my hips than normal. My jeans were tight, my Falling Star tee was even tighter, and I knew he loved my high heeled boots when he couldn’t take his eyes off them as I rounded the bar. The heels were high, so when I got up to him and threw my arms around his neck, I didn’t have to reach too high.
“You’re the best roomie, ever. That’s so sweet of you to think of me.”
I was talking low, almost a whisper as I pressed myself fully from toes to torso. I kissed him right below his ear and then whispered suggestively into the same ear, “I’d love you to give me a ride.”
I felt him shudder all over and secretly smiled when I pulled back and turned away. He was rooted to the spot, and I gave a mental high five that I’d affected him finally. I swished my hips and flipped my hair a little, walking towards the kitchen.
“Let me go tell Connor you’re giving me a ride and we can get started, Jay.” I looked over my shoulder and smirked again when James had to raise his eyes quickly to meet mine. Not quickly enough, though. He’d totally been checking out my ass. That deserved one more mentalhell, yeah.
I pushed through the back door and looked around the kitchen for Connor. He was in the back corner, but I had obviously interrupted something.
“So, you thought you’d come in here and steal from me, did you, boy? Looks like I’ll have to teach you a lesson.”
Connor had Ladd pushed up against the back wall, closed in on both sides with his huge arms on either side so that he couldn’t get away. Ladd was looking at Connor with a look of sexual bliss on his face, flushed cheeks, and wide eyes. He was into this scenario, and I hated to interrupt, but I didn’t want to give James enough time to pull his guards up again.
“Um, Connor? I’m so sorry to bother you. Jay is here, and he’s going to give me a ride. Do you want me to lock up as I go out the front?” I tried to look apologetic as I spoke, but it was wasted because neither Connor nor Ladd looked my way. Still staring into each other’s eyes, Connor answered.
“That’s fine, Ethan, thanks for letting me know. Could you come over and lock the back door and take care of the front door, too, when you leave? I think I might be here a while longer, but I don’t want any interruption.”
He leaned down to whisper something in Ladd’s ear, causing the small man to blush suddenly up to his ears. Then he continued, “Don’t let James off the hook, Ethan. I’ve seen a direct approach works best with the Eldridge men.” He finally broke eye contact with Ladd and turned to me. “Never mind about the back door, I’ll take care of that. Go on with James. Happy hunting.” Connor gave me a direct look that seemed to say volumes. I recognized what it was immediately as someone who liked to take charge. He knew what James needed, and now I did, too. No holding back. I was going to go after what I wanted. I was going to get my Jay.
