My head is pinging back and forth between Quinn and Gage.
“To Ames?” Quinn’s voice squeaks, “Her father promised.”
“He said he’d ‘try.’ I asked the landlord to let me know what they did with her place. I was hoping they’d moved her out, but I got a message from them last night telling me that she’s renewing her lease. She’s moving back.”
“When?”
“I don’t have a date yet, but the second I get one, I’ll let you know.”
“That bitch,” Tayler spits. “She’d better hope she never crosses my path. I’ll fucking kill her.”
“Now, now, Cujo.” Quinn pats Tayler’s hand. “One psycho at a time, babe. Let’s deal with Dylan first.”
“You both need to stay vigilant.” Gage’s warning sounds more ominous than I care for.
“I’m not gonna let anything happen to either one of them.” I point my thumb at Quinn. “And her man will be here tomorrow.”
Gage looks over at Quinn and asks softly. “Is that right?”
“Yep,” she says with a bright smile.
I hope that guy doesn’t break her heart. I’ll kick his ass. It’ll be easy since he’s injured.
Needing to prove Tayler will be protected, I add, “I’m with Tayler, so I’ll be sure she’s safe.” You know what? Now that I’ve said it aloud, I don’t mind the sound of it.
I’m with Tayler.
No, I don’t mind the sound of that at all.
