He grunted in agreement.

“You know you fucked up, right. Now he’s going to recruit someone new. We could’ve gotten more information out of these two.” I opened my office door and took a seat behind the desk.

Jet sat down in one of the chairs. He was so big that I was scared the chair wouldn’t be able to hold him.

“After I heard what they’d planned, I couldn’t allow them to keep breathing.” He ran his hand down his face.

Finally, he appeared to realize that he’d fucked up.

I got up, went into my small bathroom, and wet some paper towels.

“Nathan, find the twins, and get your ass to my office asap.”

“Wipe the blood off your face. There can’t be any evidence leading back to you or Reverie.”

Jet took the paper towel and cleaned his face. He threw it in the garbage can, and I sent a few sparks to burn it.

“Reverie had nothing to do with it.” He said gruffly.

“I know she didn’t, but if the evidence leads back to you and you’re in her Faction…you can see the problem.” I leaned back in my chair.

“I’m not in her Faction. You act like it’s a done deal. It’s not.”

He looked at me in aggravation.

“You keep telling yourself that,” I frowned, shaking my head at the hard-headed bastard.

“If you know everything about me, you know I can’t be part of her Faction. I’ve got a duty to my country.” Jet ran a hand through his hair.

“After the mess I just cleaned up, it looks like your loyalty to Reverie supersedes any other obligations you have,” I smirked. Jet snorted but didn’t comment.

My door swung open, startling us both. Nathan and the twins entered.

“You can’t fucking knock before entering my office?” I growled.

Nathan’s hair was in disarray, and his clothes looked like they had been thrown on haphazardly.

“Fuck no! You had the balls to speak in my head uninvited and order me here. I’ll be damned if I ‘knock before entering’ asshole.” The last part was spoken in a mockery of my voice as he knocked papers off my desk to sit on the corner.

Zeke sat in the other chair in front of my desk. “Why are we here?”

He and Zane weren’t much smaller than Jet. I didn’t know if my chairs would survive this meeting. I guess I needed to get larger furniture for my Faction brothers.

I leaned back in mylarge, comfy chair. “Jet, would you like to explain why they’re here?”

Zane walked forward and sat facing Jet on the other corner of my desk. “What did you do, Jolly?”

Nathan leaned over and fist-bumped Zane, then turned to Jet, “Yes, what did you do, Jolly? And it better be good to pull me out of bed with my Nexi. I’d made plans for how I was going to wake her up.” He smirked.

The dick was happy to throw it in our faces. No matter, I’d have my time with Reverie tonight. I may not be able to claim her openly, but I would be with her every chance I got. She was everything to me now.

And like Jet, I’d kill to keep her.

We also needed to discuss her unique mark. I’d seen it when we made love but didn’t mention it. Only a fool would want to start a discussion when buried deep in Reverie. I was many things, a fool wasn’t one of them.

“I took care of a couple of problems,” Jet said, not really explaining anything.

The three guys looked at me in question, “Jet killed two guys that were apparently spies for the Brummond.”
