"Randal and I are mated now, Nana," Luca said quickly as he moved to Randal's side. "He wants his father and brother caught and dealt with as much as you do, maybe more."
Nana snorted.
"They tried to kill him, Nana."
"What?" Her eyes rounded. "Your father tried to kill you?"
"He actually ordered my brother to do it, but yeah."
Nana's whole demeanor changed. "Oh, you poor boy." She grabbed Randal and pulled him into a hug.
Luca's eyebrows shot up when Randal sank into her embrace until he remembered that his mother had died when he was young. He probably needed a mom hug, or at least a nana hug.
"He's a good man, Nana." Luca knew it deep down in his soul. "Now that we have the alpha's approval, we can be together."
Nana's head snapped up. "Ralph approved your mating?"
Luca rolled his eyes. "Ralph is not the alpha."
"But he said—"
"He was lying."
"He lied to me?" Her voice rose with every word she spoke. "That slimy, two-bit, egg sucking—"
"He lied to a lot of people, Nana. Our alpha, our real alpha, thinks Ralph is trying to set up a shadow clan until he can gather enough support to take Rob out and take over."
It was never a good thing when Nana narrowed her eyes.
"We need to report this to Rob," Harvey said from the doorway.
"Who are you?" Nana asked.
"My name is Harvey Colton, ma'am. I'm beta of the Silver Lake Clan and the King Clan. The alpha is my little brother."
Surprise tinged her voice when she asked, "Your little brother?"
Harvey chuckled. "Long story."
"We really should go tell Rob we found you, Nana," Luca said as he grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the doorway. "We have people out looking for you everywhere."
"Where are we?" Nana asked as they walked out into the hallway.
"This is the King mansion," Harvey explained. "It used to be the home of Alpha Jason King before he challenged Rob and lost. Since we didn't feel right about kicking Albert and Mary out of their home, even after Albert had lost his challenge as well, we've been staying here until we can find someplace better."
"It's very..."
Harvey snorted. "It's a gold gilded nightmare, but it's what we have at the moment."
Nana patted Harvey's arm. "You can stay with me."
"Uh, it's not just me. There are several of us, including my mate." Harvey smiled. "But I thank you for the offer, kind lady."
Luca was surprised to hear the small flirtatious giggle that came out of his nana's mouth. He wasn't sure he'd ever heard her make a sound like that. He wasn't sure he ever wanted to hear it again.
Rob was waiting for them at the bottom of the grand staircase along with Casey and a few others. He glanced from Nana to Harvey and then to Luca. "Is this…?"
Luca nodded. "I found Nana tied up in one of the closets upstairs."
