"No," Randal said. "No one can have any sandwiches."

The dark haired man took a threatening step toward Randal. "Dude—"

"There's something wrong with them."

The man stilled. "What do you mean there is something wrong with them?"

"I think someone put poison in them."

Both men took a quick step back.

"What brought you to that conclusion, Randal?" Rob asked.

There was a hint of trepidation in Randal's voice when he explained, "The mayonnaise has a really weird smell to it. My bear about roared his head off when I tried to eat it. I thought it was best to get you and prevent anyone from eating any of it, just in case."

"No, you did good, Randal."

"I wasn't sure, sir. I just..." Randal shrugged.

Rob walked over to where Randal was standing and grabbed one of the sandwiches. He sniffed it and then wrinkled his nose in disgust. "I'm not sure if they are poisoned or not, but there is definitely something wrong with them."

Before anyone could say anything more, Casey hurried back into the room, followed closely by Harvey, Dwayne, Jeb, George, and León. Casey stopped at Rob's side, pressing so close to him, Rob almost got bowled over.

The others stopped a few feet away.

Harvey narrowed his eyes as he glanced between Rob, Randal, and the two men. "Something going on, Alpha Rob?"

The dark haired man snorted as he rolled his eyes. "He is not the alpha."

Harvey's eyebrows shot up before he pointed to his brother. "You don't think he's the alpha?"

"He's not," the man insisted. "The alpha is like sixty years old and losing his hair. This guy can't be over the age of twenty-five."

Rob snorted. "A little younger than that."

"See? That's what I mean. I've met Alpha Kersey and he's older than dirt."

"I'm not that old," Albert Kersey said as he strolled into the room with the Silver Lake sheriff.

"Look." The dark haired man reached up to rub the bridge of his nose. "I'm not trying to be rude here, but I'm getting damn tired of everyone pretending to be someone they aren't. I know what Alpha Kersey looks like. He accepted me and my brother into the clan just a couple of days ago. It's not like I'd forget something like that, or the man who did it."

Luca's eyes rounded. "You don't think..."

Rob grunted. "I do."

Holy shit.

"Can I ask your name?" Rob asked as he held out his hand. "My name is Rob Colton."

"Derek Houston." He nodded his head toward the blond. "This is my brother Christopher."

Rob pointed to Albert. "Do you recognize this man?"

Derek frowned as he looked at the former alpha. "He looks a little familiar, but I don't think we've ever met."

Albert held out his hand. "Albert Kersey."

"Oh." Derek smiled as he shook it. "Are you related to Alpha Kersey?"
