"Yes?" Luca thought that was the name the guy gave him.
"I don't remember anyone in the clan named Henry," the alpha said, "but I haven't met everyone yet."
That explained a lot.
"Oh, um, I was looking for you. He offered to help me find you, but then he just left."
Luca didn't understand it.
"Why did you need to find me?"
"Oh." Fuck, he was an idiot. "Randal told me to find you. There's something wrong with the sandwiches."
Rob's eyes narrowed. "Wrong how?"
Luca shook his head because he didn't really know. "Randal just slapped the sandwich out of my hands and told me to come get you."
"Well, I guess we'd better go find out what has him so freaked out."
When Rob and Casey started for the dining room, Luca hurried after them. When they reached the dining room, Randal was standing in front of the buffet. There were two guys standing in front of him, arguing with him. One had dark hair and one had blond hair. There didn't seem to be a whole lot different between them than that.
They were both huge.
"Enough!" Rob snapped.
Randal's head snapped up at the same time the two men swung around. Luca hurried past them to stand at Randal's side. He was in no way surprised when Randal took half a step in front of him, placing himself between Luca and the others.
As much as Luca wanted to argue that he could protect himself, he savored the warm feeling Randal's protectiveness gave him. For most of his life, the only person who cared if he lived or died was his nana.
Luca scooted closer and pressed his hand to the center of Randal's back, silently letting him know his appreciation and that he was there to back him up. And maybe to let Randal know he accepted his protection.
"What's going on in here?" Rob asked.
"Who the fuck are you?" the dark haired man snapped.
Luca snorted, remembering his previous thought that the alpha needed a public relations team.
Rob arched an eyebrow before leaning down toward Casey. He whispered something to him. Luca had no idea what he had said, but it sent Casey running out of the room.
Rob planted his feet and crossed his arms. The man was a good half a foot over six feet tall. Even without his battle stance, he was intimidating. Luca was really glad he wasn't the one under fire at the moment.
"I'm Rob Colton, alpha of the Silver Lake Clan and the King Clan." Rob narrowed his eyes, but Luca could see the anger glittering in them. "Who the fuck are you?"
The dark haired man sneered at Rob, looking him up and down. "You're not the alpha."
"I am, actually." Rob's smile was pure mischief. "But you can challenge me for the position if you think you can beat me."
Luca almost snorted. These two guys might be big, but Rob was lethal.
"You're not the alpha," the man insisted. "You're not nearly old enough."
Luca tucked his lips in to keep from laughing when Rob smirked. He didn't know who these two men were, but it was clear they were idiots.
"Just how old does someone have to be to challenge for the alpha position?" Rob asked.
The man he was talking to rolled his eyes and huffed as if he thought Rob was being ridiculous. Luca could understand his disbelief, especially if he'd never met Rob. He was young, very young. That did not mean he wasn't the alpha.
"Look," the other man said. "We're not here to challenge anyone. We just want to get some sandwiches. Can we do that without all this drama?"
