"Yeah, sure. He was in here a few minutes ago."
Finally, someone who knew who Rob was.
"Do you know where he went?" Luca asked.
"No, but I can help you search for him."
Luca slumped. "That would be great, thanks. I've looked all over the place. I can't find him anywhere. This place is huge."
Henry chuckled. "Yeah, you can get lost easily in this place if you don't live here. I had a hard time finding my way around when I first got here, too." Henry gestured toward the desk. "I need to get my laptop and then we can go."
"Yeah, sure." Luca refrained from tapping his foot as he watched Henry close down the laptop and close it. He needed to find the alpha now. He didn't have time to wait on this guy. But, he didn't want to be rude either. Henry had been nice enough to offer to help him search.
Man, he was slow.
"Where all have you already checked?" Henry asked as he walked toward Luca.
"Most of the rooms down here. I was going to head upstairs next, but if you know where he might be, that would be better."
"Or we could split up. If you took the upstairs and I finished checking around down here, one of us is bound to find him."
"Yeah, that might work."
"Where would you like to meet up if one of us does find him?"
"The dining room. My mate is waiting in there. He's the one who sent me to find Alpha Rob. Something is wrong with the sandwiches."
Henry cocked an eyebrow. "The sandwiches?"
Luca shrugged. "I'm not sure what, but Randal wouldn't let me eat any of it."
"Randal?"
"Randal Kersey. He's my mate."
God, it felt good to say that.
"Oh, I see." Henry smiled. "I hadn't realized Randal had found his mate."
"It's a new thing." Luca really didn't want to spend the time to explain how new. He'd rather find the alpha. "I'll go check upstairs. If you find Alpha Rob, can you send him to the dining room?"
"Sure."
Luca was about halfway up the stairs when he remembered that Harvey was the beta of the clan. If he couldn't find Rob, Harvey would work. He turned around and hurried back down the stairs to tell Henry if he found Harvey, to send him to the dining room.
When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he caught the back of Henry as the man hurried out the front door. Luca frowned and raced after him. Just as he got to the door and looked outside, he saw Henry jump into a waiting vehicle and then race down the driveway.
What the hell?
"Luca?"
Luca swung around, breathing a little easier when he saw Rob and Casey standing behind him. "Alpha Rob."
The alpha had a deep frown on his face, his eyebrows almost touching as they pulled down low over his eyes. "What are you doing? Did you get another call about your nana?"
"No, I was actually looking for you, but..." He waved his hand toward the front door. "Henry, who was helping me look for you, just raced out the front door and jumped into a car."
"Henry?"
