"My mother is on that list of people who are not invited to the wedding, right under Marv and Ricky."

Jayden glanced up at him. "There's a list?"

"Of course. There's always a list."

"Huh."

Wilson chuckled. "You'll get it, darling."

He had no doubt.

"Did you really buy me a newspaper?"

"I really did."

Jayden stared for a moment, his mouth hanging open, before he asked, "When?"

"Do you remember when we at the jewelers and you went outside?"

Jayden nodded.

"Mr. Jenkins mentioned something about it when I told him we needed to get our engagement announcement done. I called Elijah James and had him facilitate the sale—in secret of course. The transfer of ownership papers were mixed in with some of the papers we signed at the lawyer's office."

Jayden snickered. "You senators are a sneaky bunch."

Wilson grinned. "It's all smoke and mirrors, baby. Smoke and mirrors."

Jayden's snicker turned into a full-blown laugh. He was still laughing when they reached the bar counter. Wilson waited until the bartender came to their end of the counter then leaned forward. "Can you tell us where Harvey or Joey are?"

The platinum blonde's blue eyes narrowed. "Why?"

"Joey offered to sing at our wedding this weekend," Jayden answered before Wilson could.

Surprisingly, the woman smiled and nodded her head to the left. "They're back in the office. If you give me a minute, I can show you the way."

"We know where it is," Wilson said. "Thank you."

He tapped the bartop with his hand then headed toward the hallway. When he reached the office, he knocked. A moment later, it opened. "Hello, Joey. I wonder if we could have a moment of your and Harvey's time."

"Yes, of course." Joey held the door open even more.

Wilson held tight to Jayden's hand as he walked into the office. He nodded to the large bald man behind the desk. "Harvey." He leaned forward and shook the man's hand before sitting down on the loveseat and pulling Jayden down beside him.

"What can we help you with?"

"Do you have surveillance on your parking lot?"

"Of course."

"Someone broke into Jayden's car and stole his overnight bag and his laptop bag."

"You mean those bags?" Harvey pointed to the bags Jayden was carrying.

"Yes." Yeah, this didn't sound good. "We know who took them. We ran into them in the bar, but we played it off. The guy who took them is Jayden's former boss, and he's trouble. We couldn't let on that we knew it was him."

"So, why do you need the video?"

"Because he's trouble, and he's not going to stop until he has what he wants," Jayden said. "If we get that video to the sheriff, he might be able to build a case against Marv. It should at least show the guy breaking into my car and taking my stuff. They shattered my driver side window."
