“You straight?”
Joi nodded slowly before inhaling and releasing it. “We barely know each other.”
“I’m not judging. I told you, we’re both grown, consenting adults.”
“I know, but still…”
Joi had just met this man, only been with him three times, and here she was, giving it up, in his car, in the middle of the night.
“Nah, don’t do that. If you’re good, I’m good. That’s all it needs to be.”
She studied East for a minute longer before she nodded and relaxed a little.
“It’s late.”
East chuckled and moved his hands up her back again. Normally, East would be the one looking for an out like she had just offered. After he busted a nut, he didn’t want a connection. He didn’t do the whole lay up with me thing, but for some reason, Joi’s little “it’s late” comment had him brooding. His pride just wouldn’t let him do anything about it.
When she lifted off him and eased back over to her side of the car, he made the adjustment to his clothes before giving her his attention again.
“Come on, I’ll walk you to your door.”
“You don’t have to do that,” she quickly shot back.
“Shawty…” he pushed out.Why the fuck am I annoyed?“It’s late, I’m going walk you to the door,” he growled at her, causing Joi to frown a bit.
“Are you upset?”
East realized his mood had shifted and quickly got it together. “Nah, I’m cool. I’m not a fuck ass dude, though. I’m not about to let you be out here on your own this late.”
Joi nodded, still sensing something was off. She just left it alone.
Once they made it to her door, the tension was thick. Joi wasn’t sure why, but East knew exactly what it was. He didn’t want to leave.
“Hit me tomorrow,” he mumbled before pulling Joi into his chest and wrapping her in a hug. East felt comfortable with her in his arms but shook the thought.
After a kiss on the neck, he let go and waited until she was inside. Joi smiled softly before closing the door, leaving her on one side and East on the other. Just that quickly, she missed him already, but like East, she refused to put herself out there to do anything about it. So she locked up and glided through her tiny apartment to shower, go to bed, and hopefully not dream of him.

“Pretty Ny…” Vega’s voice was low and tempered from the two blunts he had smoked, but a smile creased his lips when Nyelle answered his call. He thought surely she wouldn’t, since it was just after midnight. Not really late for him, but she had a real job and a normal life.
“What?”
Her voice was groggy. Vega could tell he woke her, but he didn’t care. He missed Nyelle and wanted to see her. He hoped she would let him.
“Damn, that’s how you’re feeling?” He smiled at her dry tone and one-word response.
“That’s exactly how I’m feeling.” Nyelle’s groggy voice cleared just a little. “You woke me up.”
“Why are you upset with me about that? I told you I was gonna hit you up late. I even asked you to wait up so…”
“So you could go play with hoes.”
Vega smirked. She’s jealous. The thought had him smiling harder. “I didn’t play with hoes, Pretty Ny. Not one of them touched me nor did I touch them. Did I see a few naked bodies?Hell yeah, and some bad ones at that, but you know what’s more important than what I was seeing?”
Nyelle didn’t respond so Vega answered his own question. “What’s more important is the fact that the entire time I was there, I was thinking about you. Wanting to be with you and now I’m trying to make that happen. You gonna let me chill with you for a minute?”
“I have to work in the morning.”
