Finn just stared at Jerry for a long moment then he slowly nodded his head.“I’ll give it a lash and call my brothers.She has supposedly talked to their employees too.I sure hope those men are as loyal and smart as you are Jerry.You’ll need to tell them how to dismantle the bombs.Then we have to devise a way to get our hands on that crazy nutter and put an end to her shenanigans once and for all.”
Oran got the rest of the brothers online.
Liam, Seamus and Finn were sitting down staring at the faces on the screen.
Daragh, Cillian as well as Seamus’s second in command Colin Cairbre, came up on the screen.
“Well brothers,” Finn began.“We’ve discovered a real would-be disaster we weren’t even concerned about before.”
“And what would that be?”Colin asked.“Does it have anything to do with a member of our crew coming forward with a bomb?”
“I’d like to know that too,” Cillian added.“I got the same thing this morning.”
“Aye, it has to do with that,” Finn admitted.“I got one too.But I also got the who and the why behind it.Last night, I found out that someone was gonna start the same sort of trouble Daragh, Liam and Cillian were having.Acting the maggot they were gonna come in to literally beat us down, that’s when we met Darleen.She came here to warn us that a team was moving in on us and people would get hurt.We didna know anything about it but then we began looking at our security tapes and we found them.We saw a woman standing there with them.We had no idea who she was and then a man named Christopher Sanchez was arrested and he was bellowing into his own cameras that we needed to know about something that would destroy us all.”
The men on the screens all sat silently and waited to hear the worst of it.
Chapter Four
Daragh sat back inhis chair and studied his brother’s face for a moment then said, “And just what did you find?”
Finn nodded and explained it, “We found it was Ria Sanchez.I’m sure if you all think about it, you will remember where you heard that name before.She was standing at the fringe of me own front door, but she wasna alone.Her team was standing there bold as brass.They were ready to take our knees out with crow bars, the eejits.”
“Gwan with ya!”Colin exclaimed in disbelief from the screen.Then he laughed.“Bet that gave you all a good chuckle.”
Cillian nodded as he agreed, “Like they could do that to any O’Malley!Coddin’.Sure yeah, you would just stand there and let them have at it.”
Liam chuckled too.“But we found out why all this happened,” he interjected.“And it isverypersonal for her.You see, this manky-ass Ria Sanchez found Patrick when we were all younger men.As you all know, Patrick was the head of our group forty years ago.He had money and power too.She wanted that and it never mattered to her that Patrick already had a wife and a wee son.She thought because she was a beautiful woman and she was a very bonnie lass back then: Spanish looks, black hair, fiery dark eyes.She truly believed that he would hook up with her and when Patrick said no, she couldn’t believe it.To her, Patrick’s wife was the only thing standing in her way.So we now believe she removed Mauve from his life the only way she could.She killed her, though we never guessed that until recently.”
“But brother, we all believed that it was just a car accident,” Daragh said as he looked stunned.
“Sure enough we all did,” Finn replied to this.“We now know differently though.She was responsible for Mauve’s death.That’s the only way she could have gotten her hands on the O’Malley family crest.And Cillian found out from her own men that she had it.”
“Jaysus!”Colin exclaimed.
Finn nodded.“So I think I’ll get that accident report reopened when things settle down.I know it won’t bring Mauve back but I think the truth has to be brought into the light finally.Too many secrets are hiding and just like always it comes back to haunt us,literally.”
