She rolled her eyes.

“Well, under the current circumstances, I see no reason why we can’t. As much as it pains me, we don’t have a spark, so cuddling is innocent enough. We would cuddle on the couch.”

“Cuddling on the couch is definitely not the same thing.”

I frowned and continued.

“And you had to rearrange the whole room to accomplish this?”

Isabella nodded.

“Well, yes. I mean, you couldn’t even see the television where it was.”

“You do realize the sole purpose of the entertainment unit is to house all the things that entertain you, right?”

Trying to distract me, she sat down and started eating the meatloaf.

“This is yummy. And yes. But that was way too heavy to move.”

There was no arguing with her. It was pointless anyway since snuggling in bed seemed like an ideal way to continue to test our lack of spark. I mean, if you can’t find a spark cuddled up in a bed, there has to be something wrong.

As we ate, we looked over more of our assignment papers.

“It says we should interview family and friends.”

I put the paper down and shook my head.

“That’s not happening.”

She rolled her eyes.

“I have to meet them at some point. We don’t have to make it an interview. Maybe like… a lunch or something.”

“I’ll look into it. What else is there?”

Isabella sorted through some more papers.

“Aspirations.”

Groaning, I stuffed more food in my mouth.

“We already covered that. Neither of us have them.”

She laughed and flipped through the paper.

“Hobbies?”

Stuffing food in my mouth, I thought for a second but decided to be a smartass. I was having fun tonight.

“Does being a spoiled brat count?”

She rolled her eyes.

“No. Besides, you aren’t a spoiled brat.”

Isabella was already scribbling on her page and I tried to read.

“What are you writing?”
