Her palms move to my shoulders, gripping tightly. “I’m not going to last, Gavin.”
“Me neither. It’s too good. Been too long.”
She starts a steady rhythm, riding me while I match her strides. In seconds, the pace becomes frantic, and I feel her squeezing around me. I cover her breasts, kneading the soft flesh before pinching her nipples. Tiana cries out, throwing her head back while pumping even faster.
“So close, so close,” she moans.
Slipping a hand between us, I put pressure against her clit, sending her over. Tiana doesn’t control her sounds of pleasure, and I fucking love it. “Yeah, beautiful, take it.” Her pussy spasms, pulling my orgasm from me, causing me to groan with my own pleasure as I lose myself in her. I wrap my arms around her and bring her to my chest as we tremble together. Our breaths rush in and out as we ride through this euphoric feeling.
Tiana buries her face in my neck as her arms wrap around my head. “I think I just found my new addiction,” she whispers. “Gavin Driscoll.”
I chuckle, pulsing inside her, causing her to giggle in my ear. “I think I was addicted to you the first moment I laid eyes on you. Not only beautiful to look at, but your personality, your essence... vivacious. Effervescent.” I turn my head to nuzzle her neck. “And you smell so damn good. What is it you wear?”
She rises to look at me, a dreamy smile on her face. “You are a sweet surprise, Gavin. And it’s lemongrass.” She brings her lips to mine, kissing me slowly, deeply. Completely.
A moment later she lifts her head, and her hair curtains around us. I frame her face and push her hair away, looking at her. Really looking at her. “I hope this is only the beginning of your addiction, because I’m already hooked.”
“Believe me, you aren’t getting away.” She winks. “That being said,” she shifts, and I slip free from her body, “I think a little cleanup is in order before snuggles.”
I nod and smile as she moves off me and stands. I’m up, going for my pack when the sight out the window stops me. “Tiana.” She comes to my side, her hand resting around my waist. I sling an arm over her shoulders.
“Oh, Gavin, snow!” She looks up at me with wonder before staring out the window again. “My first snow.”
We watch the tiny flakes float in the air and accumulate on the ground.
“Pretty. At least it isn’t freezing rain anymore, but it’ll still make it interesting hiking back tomorrow. I wish I had reception to contact my folks. Hopefully they won’t worry too much, knowing I can take care of us.” When she looks at me with a grin yet raises her brow, I amend my statement. “Excuse me, thatwecan take care of each other.”
“Better. Although I do love that protective instinct.” She kisses my chest. “Okay, now I’m cold. Time to stoke that fire and get under the blankets.”
“You’ve already stoked my fire.” I wink at her, earning a laugh.
“Come on, lumberjack.” She steers us to our bags where she pulls out handwipes. “They’re going to be chilly.”
“That’s fine. But, um, lumberjack?” She laughs again and tells me about the romance books she, Remi, and Ronni are into. “Hmm, I don’t mind being your alpha hero.”
“My fairy tale come true.” She grins.
We clean up and Tiana rebraids her hair. Then we rearrange the blankets on the floor before lying down and pulling two across us. We rolled up our coats to use as pillows, and we cuddle, getting as comfortable as we can. The light is fading, bringing nightfall, and the fire’s flames provide soft light and plenty of warmth.
“Can’t wait to get you back and into a plush bed.”
Tiana emits a soft laugh against my chest. “Hashtagcouple’s goals.”
Within moments, her steady breathing lets me know she’s fallen asleep. I kiss her forehead and close my eyes, knowing there’s a sappy smile on my face at her use of the wordcouples.
Yeah, I like that idea, hoping she will too.
CHAPTER 5
When morning came,my bladder had been ready to burst. Seems it’d been the same for Gavin. Regardless of the cold, we slipped our boots on and wrapped only a blanket around ourselves to go outside. Our day began with blue skies; a stark difference from yesterday’s activity which left about two inches of snow covering the ground.
Gavin and I took turns taking care of business before getting back inside, cleaning up and dressing. We wanted to waste no time in making our way back, so we straightened up the cabin and ensured the fire was out. I rolled up the blankets, and Gavin tied them together, securing them to the bottom of my pack. I said I wanted to wash them and bring them back as soon as the weather permitted.
Once on the main trail, we’d gone about an hour when our phones started alerting us to notifications. Pulling them out, we both laughed at the number of texts and missed calls from our families. I mean, not that it was funny they’d been worried and tried their damnedest to reach us, but funny that it’d been like passing through a curtain. One minute, nothing, then suddenly, everything.
“Dad said he and Jace, who came home last night for a visit, were heading up this way in the morning. That, of course, being today.” Gavin looks at me. “Guess we can expect to encounter them on the trail or at the trailhead, depending on when they got started.”
“Well, at least they care enough to do that.” I hold up my phone, shaking it. “Seems my family only knows how to scold me about my rudeness for not answering them as well as preventing Roman from contacting me.”
