“Well, Mr. Cross has a reputation with the housekeepers, and all of them feel like it’s a death sentence if they have to go there.”

Quinn shook his head. “Well, Sharon is the last one. If she doesn’t work out, I’ll have a talk with him. Frankly, I can’t find any reason he’d be so quick to fire any of my employees. All of them have stellar reviews from clients. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. You head out of here soon. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Bye, Quinn. Kiss the little ones for me,” Nat said.

He waved over his shoulder. “I will. Have a good night,” he called out.

He looked forward to getting home, eating dinner, and spending a night watching movies with his children, and was hopeful, Mr. Cross would stop being a thorn in his side.

“What’s for dinner, Daddy?”Leo asked, coming up to him in the kitchen.

Quinn looked down at his son who was now standing by the refrigerator. “How about mac and cheese?” He hoped the kids went for it since he could whip that up in less than thirty minutes.

Leo scrunched up his nose.

“Again?” Haley sighed.

Quinn closed the refrigerator. He had forgotten to stop at the grocery store and made a mental note to make that his top priority. “Pizza?” Quinn hoped maybe that would appease the kids. Who would say no to pizza, right? He held up his phone prepared to make the call.

“Yayyy…” Keith said, popping into the kitchen.

Quinn chuckled. “Pizza it is.” He dialed the pizza place which was just around the corner.

“Hello, Mark’s Pizza,” a woman answered.

“Hello, I would like to place an order for delivery.”

“Go ahead, sir,” she replied after a second, the sounds of movement audible through the phone.

"I would like one medium cheese and one medium pepperoni pizza please.”

“With extra cheese,” Keith and Leo chimed in together.

Quinn grinned. “With extra cheese. Also will you add anchovies, mushrooms, and pineapples to it.” He tossed a look over to his triplets, and their eyes got big. They looked between the three of them, and Quinn could only imagine the thoughts going through their minds. “I’m kidding about that. Just pepperoni and extra cheese on both of them.”

“So, you don’t want the pineapple, anchovies, and mushrooms?” The woman asked, and Quinn could hear the irritation in her voice.

“No… I was just joking around with my children,” Quinn said.

“Oh… funny,” she mumbled. She rattled off his name that came up with his address. “Is that all?” she checked.

“Yes, thank you,” Quinn said.

She gave his total and then hung up.

“Can we watch a movie?” Haley asked.

“Of course. This is our night in. Why don’t you go get dressed for bed, and then the three of you can go pick out a movie, and I’ll be out in the living room in a minute,” Quinn said.

They ran off and Quinn put away the few items he had taken out of the cupboard in his attempt to find a meal he could scrounge together.

He heard the hurried footsteps as the kids ran up the stairs, and then no more than five minutes later, they were running back down. Quinn chuckled. Oh, to have all that energy.

He loved them dearly and couldn’t imagine his life any other way. As he closed the cupboard, though, he heard arguing coming from the other room, so he hurried into the living room to see what the commotion was.

“I don’t want to watch that. I want to watch this,” Haley said.
