Jai
Everything Jai was feeling was so crazy new to him. Nothing had ever been so wonderful and amazing as the simple fact that Nickolas wanted to be with him. No matter how hard he tried to reclaim some common sense, he was overwhelmed by the outrageous giddy excitement dancing through his body.
He had not known that a guy could actually make him feel like that. Sure, he had heard women and omegas describe certain men as irresistible, but he’d always thought they were exaggerating. As if the idea thatanyman could have such an extreme effect on him, it seemed impossible. Admittedly, even though he’d called bullshit to all those claims, he had always secretly longed and hoped to feel it himself. And when he was around Nickolas and the alpha kissed him, every cell in his body responded enthusiastically.
When Jai was around the alpha, the only thing that kept him upright was usually Nickolas’ arms wrapped around him. Not that he was complaining. The alpha’s arms around him always made him feel safe and protected. They had sex once more before Nickolas had regretfully taken his leave and he had promised to call or text Jai that night which was a promise he kept.
N: Guess those magical fairies finally got my phone working again.
J: Not funny.
N: I thought it was. Lol. I find myself looking forward to being at the office tomorrow.
That text had made Jai smile, but instead of replying what he wanted which was, “me too”, he’d said:
J: Please don’t be offended, but can we be discreet at work? I don’t want any special treatment, or people thinking I’m sleeping with the boss.
He’d held his breath while biting his lips nervously as he waited for the reply from Nickolas.
N: You’re right. We will keep it professional around the others. But if I find you in my office again, prepare for a repeat.
Jai was blushing furiously as he remembered what they’d gotten up to in Nickolas’ office the first time. But he wasn’t about to encourage the Alpha. He simply replied.
J: Goodnight Alpha.
N: Night little one.
Jai was sure Nickolas was ‘the one’, the one special alpha who he had always hoped and prayed might be waiting out there for him. The guy he was going to fall stupidly in love with. The alpha who was hopefully going to fall madly in love with him. At least he hoped so, but there was still a part of him which warned him against hoping for too much. What if he ended up with nothing for daring to reach above his station?
Jai had feeling it was already too late. He knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was falling in love with Nickolas – if he wasn’t already there.
The following day at work, every movement reminded him of the intimate moments with his alpha. He could still feel Nickolas’ passionate possession. He hoped he wasn’t walking funny. He wasn’t sure if he should be mortified, but the feeling of happiness was just too much for him to feel anything but good.
The feeling continued when, at around noon, flowers arrived. A stunning bouquet of lilies. He had never been sent flowers before. At first, he thought there had been a mistake, or maybe it was some sort of prank, but his own name on the envelope convinced him, and he opened the card.
Sorry for not calling. I thought you’d like these. N
To say he was surprised was an understatement. His alpha had already apologized, which he had accepted, so the flowers were completely out of the blue, and totally unexpected. But he loved that Nickolas didn’t mind saying so again and sending flowers.Swoon. It made him feel like the relationship between them actually had a shot. And it wasn’t just an alpha satisfying his carnal desires.
Without warning, his eyes stung with tears and with a laugh of embarrassment over his own teeming emotions, he dashed away the moisture. He put the card away quickly not wanting anyone to see it. Not that they would immediately assume that “N” was the boss. But why risk it?
He shot a quick text to Nickolas, telling him how much he loved the flowers, before putting his phone away and focusing back on the task at hand. But before he could hide the flowers, another omega, Sam, who worked with him saw them.
“Wow…” Sam gushed with inquisitive eyes. “Is it your birthday or something?”
Gulping, and thankful he had hidden the envelope. “Nope. Just a friend apologizing for something. It’s no big deal.” Jai said, not meeting the other omega’s gaze he could feel burning into him.
He went back to work before Sam could ask any more questions Jai wouldn’t know how to answer. He wasn’t a very good liar. He decided he would tell Nickolas to send any further gifts to his home. He didn’t want to become a source of gossip at work.
