“Shut up and let’s just go.” Bren grumbled.
Gordy felt his cheeks heat listening to the two men speak so openly. Part of him was embarrassed by what they were talking about, and another part of him was envious that he didn’t have someone to banter back and forth with like that.Oh who the hell are you kidding? You wouldn’t even know how to go about joking or teasing someone.
The next thing Gordy knew he was outside being pushed down a long trail until they came to an opening, then he felt himself being shoved into an SUV with Gio at the wheel, and Jude shouting, “Go! Go! Go!”
“Jude, will you stop yelling? No one’s even around.” Gio hissed out as he made his way to town.
Once they made it to Beer and Brats, Jude opened the door and stepped out. “Okay, when you get in there, you sit down. Your date should be along in a bit. We’re here a half hour early, so don’t panic and think you’ve been stood up. Keep to small talk and maybe let him lead the conversation. If you feel yourself getting tongue-tied, just pretend you’re talking to me or Gio, or something like that. If that doesn’t work, remember the dude farts, shits, and pisses just like you and everyone else.”
“Jude!” Bren growled.
Jude rolled his eyes, “What? It’s true.”
“Just be yourself and do your best to stay relaxed. You’ll be fine, and if you need us, use one of the signals we taught you. We’ll be there in a flash and take you home.” Gio said. “You got this, Gordy. I have faith in you.”
Gordy turned and started towards the entrance. “At least one of us does.”
