CHAPTER 11

Gordy lay on the bed, cuddled in Gunner’s arms, resting. Gunner was snoring up a storm. It was kind of funny. Most people might complain about the sound coming from his mate, but to Gordy it was the sweetest sound in the world. It calmed Gordy, made him feel more a part of what they were. Yes, it was kind of nuts, but Gordy could not give a shit what anyone else might think. He would just lie here and enjoy.

Hearing voices outside his window, Gordy looked and realized the window had been left partially open. Oh shit! Did Gio and Cobra hear what he and Gunner had been doing not so long ago? Had that window been open during their bonding?

Gordy’s cheeks heated just thinking about his best friend hearing him “getting it on” with Gunner. Granted it wasn’t like Gordy hadn’t heard Gio and Cobra doing the same just that morning but still… no, he wasn’t going to think about it.

The talking seemed to get louder because for some reason, Gordy could hear the dragons as if they were sitting right in his room with him.

Taco looked at Jamil curiously, “Then, I’m not sure I understand. Did you tell Gordy that it’s possible to have children now? That being soul bonded to a dragon makes having children possible.”

What the fuck? Why were they talking about having kids and what the hell was Taco talking about when he said it was possible for them to have babies.

“No you didn’t!” Taco shouted out, causing Gordy to take notice at how upset Taco sounded.

Slipping out from under Gunner’s arm, Gordy got up to go and see what was going on. If that dragon was being mean to his maharishi, Gordy was going to shift and bite his balls off… well, if the dragon had balls. It was not like Gordy ever tried to peek in that area.

“I did.” Jamil said, sounding nervous… upset… not his typical self-assured self that was for sure.

“The bearing heat? You gave off the dragon bearing heat?” Taco said, in complete shock.

What the hell was dragon bearing heat?

Jamil’s voice went really quiet, and Gordy had to strain to hear his next words, “Yes, and the moment Gordy swallowed Gunner’s seed… it took. How do I tell my bond mates that we are going to have a child in the next three months without them hating me?”

“Three months for Gordy, but then you will have another three months until the whelp is born.” Taco said, causing Gordy’s eyes to practically bug out of his head.

Without thought Gordy’s hands flew to his stomach as he tried to wrap his mind around the thought that he might actually be carrying a baby in his stomach. “How the hell is that even possible?”

“Who was that?” Taco asked looking around.

“It sounded like Gordy.” Jamil replied quickly.

Both dragons looked to the window that Gordy stood at and locked eyes with him. Taco stood up, “I think I’m going to do a perimeter check. You, my friend, have some mates to talk to.”

“But maybe he didn’t hear… maybe…”.

“Jamil, you know as well as I do that shifters have excellent hearing and now that you’re bonded it’s going to be even better. So, go in there, be honest and let them know what the hell is going on. You wanted my advice and that’s it. As my dear sentience always says,… communication is the key to making a relationship a good one and a happy one.,” Taco stated then became smaller and took to the sky. This way, he could look out for intruders and if a human were to see him they would think of Taco as nothing more than a strange-looking bird.

Watching as Jamil stood up and make his way inside, Gordy went to the bed, shaking a still sleeping Gunner. “Wake up, Gunner. We have a problem.”

Gunner shot up at those four words, looking around. “Are we under attack? Get in the closet, Gordy.”

Gunner was out of bed in all his naked glory. Gordy wanted nothing more than to put that masterful piece of equipment to use, but if what he heard was real and true, there was no time for that right now. “Gunner, calm down and get dressed. No, my father isn’t here, nor are any of his goons.”

The door opened and a very contrite-looking dragon walked in, not looking at Gordy or Gunner.

The feeling of fear and unease went through his soul link and Gordy knew it was coming from Jamil. Gunner must have noticed as well because he was soon pulling on a pair of sweats, asking, “What’s going on? Jamil, what’s wrong?”

Jamil looked at Gordy, “You heard didn’t you?”

Gordy nodded, saying, “I heard something, but I’m not sure what I heard is even right, let alone possible.”

“What? What did you hear? What’s going on?” Gunner asked, sounding more annoyed by the second.

“Calm down, Gunny. You’re upsetting Jamil and he’s already nervous. How about you and I sit on the bench seat and let Jamil explain everything.” Gordy said, far calmer than he felt.

Gunner huffed and sat, bringing Gordy onto his lap instead of letting him sit next to him. It was just fine with Gordy, because somehow he felt as if he was going to need the support only his mate could provide. “Ok, Jamil, we’re ready.”
