“Jude, I thought you said your dad passed away a long time ago?” Gordy asked, not understanding the man’s problem. It wasn’t as if she was cheating or anything if her husband was dead.

“He did, but Mom hasn’t had any other man in her life since then either, and she doesn’t need one now.” Jude grumbled.

“That we know of.” Bren said, looking as if he was about to puke.

Jude turned on Bren, “Do not… and I mean this, Bren… do not even think about agreeing with Gio right now or I will… I’ll put itching powder in your lube!”

Gio laughed, “Jude, your mother is a red-blooded woman at the height of her sex drive. You can’t expect her to live life without exploring that side of herself.”

“Yes I can. That’s my mom you’re talking about, and I would appreciate you not saying Mom and sex in the same sentence, thank you very much.” Jude snapped as Bren shivered.

Gio went to say something when he heard someone coming inside.

Before Gunner even got to him, Pit rushed in with Cobra on his tail, both men looking around until their eyes landed on the men they were looking for. Bren and Gio took off to their mates, Pit growling, “You guys are in so much trouble.” He turned to Gunner. “We need to get Gordy out of here. Before the shooter met an untimely death, Azul and Smoky got him to talk.”

Pit turned to Gordy and he felt his stomach drop. He knew he wasn’t going to like the words coming out of the man’s mouth before he started to speak. “It appears that your father has been a busy man and located you.”

“Oh my god. This is because of me?” Gordy cried out. “He tried to have me killed and risked killing all the people here just to get rid of me?”

“How? I mean how did he find Gordy to begin with?” Bren asked.

Looking at Gio, Pit said, “It appears he has some really good hackers. Wiz is pissed, because the fucker got past his walls and found out about you coming here today.”

“Oh fuck!” Jude gasped, looking at Gordy, “I’m so sorry, man. We didn’t think…”

Pit snapped, “No you didn’t! There is a reason that the people of Drago are there. Some are there because they know about us and that was their choice, but others… well, others need to have the anonymity that Drago provides. By bringing Gordy out into the open, you risked not only his life and the people’s lives in this restaurant, but your lives as well.” Looking down at his mate, there was no way anyone could miss the pain in his eyes as well as his tone. “Do you have any idea how Azul and I would have felt if anything had happened to you?”

Bren’s eyes teared up as he said, “I’m sorry, Pit. It’s just that we wanted Gordy to be as happy as we are, and when Gunner’s maharishi spoke with us and said how he thought Gordy might be his and Gunner’s sentience, we had to help.”

“But you could have come to me, my love. You know I would have helped you any way I could, and I would have known you were safe.” Pit replied.

Bren raised his brow. “You were the one to warn Gunner off of Gordy to begin with. How could I know you’d help us?”

“I only warned Gunner off of Gordy because I didn’t want him to be another notch on Gunner’s belt. He’s a great guy and all, but I’ve been on assignment with the man and know how he is on his down time.” Pit said.

“Hey!” Gunner shouted, looking as pissed as he sounded. “I agree I’m a healthy man with a healthy appetite for sex like all the others, but it’s not like I’m a manwhore, and I would appreciate you not talking about me like that in front of my sentience.”

Blade stepped forward, “Look, guys, as fun as this discussion sounds… not. I think we need to focus here. The cops aren’t here because Nolan is holding them off right now, but he won’t be able to do that for much longer. So, I suggest we figure out what the hell we’re going to do with Gordy, and head the fuck out of here.”

“Do with me? I don’t understand.” Gordy whispered fearfully.

“What Blade is saying is, that means you aren’t safe in Drago.” Gunner ground out.

Gordy gasped, “You’re kicking me out of Drago?” Again his shoulders slumped. “I get it. You’re right. My father won’t stop until he kills me and anyone in his way. It’s too dangerous for me to stay there.” Gordy’s heart broke as he started backing away, “I’ll… I’ll just go.”

Gunner gripped Gordy’s arm. “Just where do you think you’re going?”

“I don’t want anyone hurt, and I’ll go as far away as I can before he finds me again. I should be able to get far enough away that everyone in Drago stays safe,” Gordy replied quietly.

“You aren’t going anywhere alone. I agree that we need to get you out of here until we can track down and stop your father, but you will not do this by yourself. Not only will I not allow it, my maharishi won’t either.” Gunner argued.

“But…”

Shaking his head, Gunner quickly said, “What if you go and are far away and I or my dragon go into dragon heat? Or you do? What then? We would be incapacitated and unable to protect ourselves, leaving us as sitting ducks for your father to pick off.”

“Dragon heat is that bad?” Gordy asked in disbelief.

Jude snorted, “You bet your lily-white ass it is. It’s like lava is running through your veins and you’re boiling from the inside out.”
