“Tatsou I want you.” It had been too long, and a large part of me wanted to wipe out the last memory of our sex when he had changed me. His glowing gold eyes stared up at me as he licked one long, lavishing stroke up my sex then rose slowly. He unleashed himself and gently eased into me. Whether he knew my thoughts or not, the gravity of our first sex since then coated the air in the tight space.
“Just make me forget it, Tatsou.” A half-moan, half-prayer flew from my mouth to his as he captured my lips for our spark. Those strong hands lifted me up and down onto him, and I swore I could have died from the pleasure. Every touch, every shot of euphoria that blessed my body intensified with each thrust. My fangs descended, and I fought the urge to bite him.
“Do it.” Tatsou groaned, his head tilted to the side exposing his neck to me. That’s right, a bite from a vampire brought sex to new heights. Without hesitating this time, my teeth sank into his skin. The taste of his blood on my tongue made my toes curl, and my release barreled into me. My head rolled back and Tatsou’s rough hand gripped the back of my neck and kept my head steady for his plundering kiss.
My back ached from rubbing against the airplane wall, and I quickly lifted off him only to land on my feet and moved to lean against the sink. The vamp smacked my ass hard, then entered me quick and even harder.
“I like this image,” he murmured into my ear. Two glowing sets of eyes reflected back at us from a mirror. Oh yeah, watching him pound into me from behind was hot as fuck. Tatsou became a savage as he lost all control and unleashed the true monster on me. Shadows swirled around the cabin, and his fangs dropped . . . normally a frightening sight, only I wasn’t afraid. Instead, I shifted my hair to the side to expose my neck. Tatsou ripped into the flesh between my neck and shoulder. I bit my lip hard to keep from screaming as another release crashed over me. My legs trembled, and I grabbed onto the counter for balance. Tatsou pulled at the orgasmic blood and snarled as his fucking slowed to rhythmic pace. He came, and his teeth sank deeper and deeper, drawing a moan from my lips.
“Holy fuck,” I whispered, my body completely spent. Tatsou licked at the wound and pulled out slowly. My body already started healing, and the orgasm coma dissipated.
“Mine.” The vamp nuzzled my closed-up neck and ran his fingers up and down my spine.
“Can’t get rid of me now.” I laughed and rearranged myself to go back to our seats. Tatsou did the same, and after we were composed, I told him to wait a few seconds before following me. I wasn’t immune to stares like he was. Unfortunately, I had that little human habit of caring what others think. I avoided Eleanor’s huge grin as I plopped back into my seat and resumed my sketching. Eleanor watched me with a knowing look, so I focused hard on my sketching instead of connecting gazes. I know she liked Tatsou and I together, but I wasn’t ready to high five her for coming on Tatsou’s dick minutes ago. The very happy Tatsou sat in the seat moments later. His hand caressed my cheek.
“Delightful little monster,” he teased and I smiled as I sketched with long strokes of my pencil against the paper. Surprisingly, the thirteen-hour flight passed without issue. We watched a movie to pass the time, and while everyone slept, Eleanor talked about her time with the other originals, an interesting assortment of personalities ranging from calm to psycho. Their bodies had frozen the moment the plague mutated their genetics. Most were in the range of twenty years old to fifty. None of them knew the reason. They just bonded as a family.
My hands fidgeted with the sleeve of my dress as we waited for our ride. Eleanor noticed and tried to make me feel better, but her words weren’t very encouraging.
“They are gonna love you, Kat. Good news. Even if they don’t, Tatsou won’t let them hurt you. You’re completely safe.” She took my hand and gave it a squeeze. Tatsou huffed as he watched for his old friends. My whole body tensed and then relaxed as I remembered to breathe deep. This wasn’t like a dinner party or an event where I could be nice and not care if people thought I was weird. I wanted these people to accept me, which felt lame, but these emotions were inside my head.
My lover pulled me into his arms for comfort. I also felt weak for requiring it. I’m a vampire, damn it. Wasn’t that supposed to cure all my anxieties and make me a complete badass?
“You do not need to worry, Little Flower. You charmed me, and that was no easy feat. You are strong enough to handle this,” he whispered against my hair, then looked into my eyes. I nodded, hearing his words and inhaled deeply.
“I can do this,” I repeated quietly as a large blue SUV pulled up to the curb. The sun’s rays bounced off the car and blinded me for a few seconds. Damn vampire eyes.
“Hop in!” a very robust female voice called to us. Tatsou held my hand as we climbed into the SUV.
“Tatsou, it’s been ages! Enric and I were so surprised to hear your name when Poppy called.” As my vision cleared back up to crystal clear, I saw two forms. The driver was a young female with strikingly pale blue eyes and whitish-blond hair. Her full lips widened as she noticed me in the car. The male in the passenger seat looked me up and down with an impassive expression. He’d been graced with celebrity good looks, consisting of dark wavy hair, tanned olive skin, and rich brown eyes.
“Are all vampires so hot?” My dumb mouth opened, and I wanted to die. No hello, nice to meet you, or anything remotely normal. I’d been nervous to meet them, and those were my first words. The whole car was silent, then Eleanor’s mouth opened wide, and a hysterical laugh bubbled out. Everyone joined in. Even Tatsou chuckled.
“Look in the mirror, dear. You are gorgeous yourself.” The woman laughed, and placed a hand on the male for support from her giggles. I blushed and realized my blunder hadn’t come off as rude. They seemed to be delighted with my little outburst. The female put the vehicle in drive, and we started down the road.
“This is Katsumi, my . . .” Tatsou paused and looked at me. I guess we hadn’t truly decided what we were. He technically asked if I’d want to marry him, but he needed to propose in a better way.
“Person. I’m his person.” I chose that word because girlfriend sounded strange. Did immortals play boyfriend/girlfriend? It almost seemed too simple.
“I’m Asta, and this is my husband-for-life Enric.” Asta waved as she typed up the directions on the navigation. Enric gave me a silent nod hello.
“Wait . . . I thought your names were Crocus and Lilja.” I glared at Eleanor who sat quietly, enjoying our interaction with a smile.
“They haven’t told you the story yet? Shame, Tatsou.” Asta “tsked” at Tatsou.
“I never agreed to it.” He huffed with his eyes closed, head tilted toward the ceiling. Dare I say the vamp looked annoyed at the discussion.
“Tatsou wasn’t the head of the original family, but he was up there in the top tier, like the angry younger uncle. Since he worked with flowers, he jokingly called us all flower names based on where we grew up. I believe he did it to annoy us. We lost everything we loved so he thought giving us different names of our past would piss us off. Instead, we all took to it. We even called our family the Vampire Bouquet for a long time. Lilja, or lilies, are my favorite from home in Norway. Crocus are a famous flower in Italy, where Enric is from. Poppies are important in Britain, even before Remembrance Day. And of course, Tatsou dear is our Wisteria. If you know him, then I don’t think any additional explanation is necessary.”
As Asta finished, I said, “Of course, you would do that, just to be an ass and annoy them.” The vamp lived for pissing people off and dropping trees on their vans like it was no big deal. He didn’t deny my words, he simply shrugged and listened as Enric asked questions about where he’d been. The farther we drove, the easier it was to calm my mind. Enric and Asta were kind and welcoming. Asta was definitely the strong personality of the group, but I suspected her husband had a more subtle yet strong one, too.
“I wonder who has been hiding in the villages,” Eleanor pondered aloud and the others meditated about it.
“My bet is either Lan or Chen,” Enric said, and while I had no idea who we were about to meet, I hoped they were willing to help.
