Shane’s head swings around, and his eyes bug out.“Really?” He quickly turns back to look at the road.
“Yeah, I want that so badly. You have no idea. I’m in love with her. I’m in love with both of you too. I never knew being in a relationship could be like this. I know it’s quick, and I don’t expect it to be mutual, but it’s the truth.”
Before I can say anything else, Alex is unbuckling his belt and throwing himself into the backseat with me. His mouth collides with mine as he kisses me passionately, his hands plucking at my clothes.
I feel the car swerve onto the edge of the road, and out of the corner of my eye, I see Shane get out, then the back door opens. He hauls Alex off me only to replace him. Shane’s kisses are different from Alex’s. They’re rougher, his beard tickling my lips and cheeks. His tongue is more aggressive, and he holds me with a harder grip. It’s delicious.
“We feel the same way. We just didn’t want to scare you,” Shane says breathlessly as he pulls away. The three of us are breathing heavily, and the car is starting to fog up.
He cups my face and gives me one more kiss before pulling away. “As much as I’d like to continue this, there’s not enough room in the backseat of the car for the three of us.”
“Well, get back to driving! The quicker we get home, the quicker you can join us.” Alex tugs me back against his body.
Shane groans and adjusts his cock in his pants. “You’re going to make me suffer on the way home, aren’t you?” He climbs out and gets back into the driver’s seat as we buckle back in. Once we get moving, Alex’s hand tackles the button and zipper on my pants before he reaches in and grabs hold of my dick.
“Sure am,” he says before he leans down and takes it into his mouth. I groan as I feel his wet mouth engulf the head of my cock, and my hands slide into his hair as my head drifts back against the seat.
“Drive fast, Shane,” I mutter as Alex starts to bob up and down. I guess our conversation can continue later.
ChapterTen
Jacinta
The next morning, I wake up bright and early, excited to go to work. I throw back my blankets and speed through my shower. I even feel good about getting dressed for the day, which is something that I haven’t been able to say lately. It’s nice to put on something a little fancier than jeans or shorts and a T-shirt, which has practically been my uniform for the last few weeks. Slipping on a pair of fuchsia Jimmy Choos that have a four-inch heel, I smooth my hands over my black pencil skirt before studying myself in my floor-length mirror. I have a fitted sleeveless shirt on, my long black hair is tied back in a sleek ponytail, and my lipstick matches my shoes. I look good and ready to take on the world, and I feelamazing.
Huh, maybe all I needed was to put on my figurative armor to face the world.
A knock on my door has me calling out, “Come in!” I move over to my drafting table and stack some of my designs in my portfolio bag. I’m putting my laptop in its case as my twin steps into my room.
“Oh, hey!” I’m surprised to see him. I know they went home last night, but I guess they needed to come over to catch the helicopters into work.
“Hey, I just wanted to check in on you. See if you’re okay. You disappeared last night before I could,” he says, leaning against the doorframe.
“Yeah, of course. Why wouldn’t I be?” I ask, putting my laptop and portfolio bags over my shoulder before going to my desk.
“You did all the right things and reacted the right way about all the baby news yesterday, but I also know that you are a flawless actress.” I freeze at his words, some of the excitement fading away. “Look at me, Jazzy, please.”
Sighing, I place my bags on the desk and turn around. I close the distance between us and wrap my arms around him. “Jax, I promise I am okay with all of this. In fact, I’m thrilled for all of you. I actually want to speak to Dad today and see if he’s going to invite Emma and Molly to live with us. It’s all so quick, but it just feels right. They’re a part of our family, especially now, and they should be here with us too.”
He hugs me back, and I feel the tension drain out of him with my words, which makes me equally pleased and guilty. Pleased that he still cares enough to check in on me, and guilty for the exact same reason. He should be thrilled about what’s happening in his life, not worried about me being upset about it.
“It makes me so happy to hear that,” he tells me as we pull apart. “Harlow said you liked the things she gave you?” He’s totally fishing, but he wouldn’t be the brother I know and love if he gave up that easily.
“I love them! I can’t wait to be an auntie and a big sister. I know I’m getting at least one niece, but I’m excited to find out what the other babies are. Are you guys going to find out? I wonder if Dad and the girls will.”
Leaving Jax, I head into my closet to grab my handbag.
“I’m not sure. We haven’t really discussed it. It will go to a group vote, I guess. We all know what Oli’s vote will be, but I guess we’ll have to see how everyone else votes.” I smile at this, glad to hear that they’re working together as a family.
“I love that you guys put things to a vote. It must make decision-making easier.” I pick out a cute Jimmy Choo bag to go with my heels before shoving my phone, lipstick, and some gum into my purse. When I come back out, Jax is standing by my desk, and my heart starts racing. Fuck, I don’t want him to open the top drawer. I stride over as casually as I can and shove my portfolio and laptop at him. “Here, can you take these things downstairs and pour me a coffee? I just need to find the business card Riku gave me last night. I think it might have fallen under my bed.”
He takes my bags and raises an eyebrow, walking backward to the door. “Your bodyguard Riku? What would he be giving you a business card for? We’ve already hired his company.”
Well, that’s certainly news to me. Riku owns the company that we’ve hired. Huh, the man is full of surprises. I shake my head and wave my hand.
“His sister owns a baby boutique, and I mentioned I was excited to be outfitting the nursery for you guys. He gave me her card and told me to give her a call, says she has some unique things there.”
“Oh cool. He’s a nice guy. It would be good if we could support his sister’s business. It’s always nice to pay it forward, and heislooking after your whiny ass after all.”
