Why did that sting a little? He should be happy. How many men just wanted to be used by a beautiful woman?
“So, you are using me for my body?”
Christin agreed and her eyes started to glow a bright blue. Broch could see the dragon in her now, now that he knew what he was looking for. No matter how badly he wanted to ignore it all, he couldn’t. Not only was Christin a princess, but she was dragon. That would never stop being cool in his mind. He was never going to be able to say no to that. Ever. Space be damned.
Chapter 33
Christin
Christin wasn’t trying to make things more complicated, but she could tell that she was messing with Broch’s head. When she had the choice to go to her room or his, Christin didn’t want to go to her own. Everyone else was asleep and all Christin could think about was being with him. She craved him, true enough. Her body was in a constant state of alert when he was around. What really got her was the fact that she slept better when he was next to her. She didn’t want to sleep without being snuggled in his arms and up against his chest. She couldn’t say any of that out loud, not when she was supposed to be deciding on what to do.
She stretched and turned away from Broch. She was in the mood to have some more of him, but at the same time, Christin thought of taking off before he got up. Then, she wouldn’t have that awkward conversation on the way out. Christin was running from Broch and the emotions he caused because she knew that he was the sort that could hurt her. She loved him, or damn close, and he would be the only one that could possibly hurt her in that way.
It also meant admitting that everything she had told herself about men for the last decade was wrong. She had convinced herself that it was all men, they all sucked, when in fact she had just probably picked the worst one of all. Now, she had to believe that there were good men in the world and that was a hard one to swallow.
“Were you really going to run off without telling me good morning?”
Christin hadn’t known that Broch was awake, so his words made her jump. She didn’t like being so jumpy, but he was right. She was going to take off and call it a necessity. Christin didn’t know what to do with him when he got serious and he always did, unless he was pounding into her and making her scream his name
“No, I was just going to get up.”
“Uh huh, back to needing space, huh?”
Christin didn’t answer. Broch didn’t seem happy about it.
“Something like that.”
“So, you can fuck my brains out at night but ignore me through the day?”
He was incredulous and she had to admit that it wasn’t a good sounding thing. Although to be fair, it wasn’t like he was complaining or anything like that. He seemed to have no problem going along with it, more than once.
“Is that a problem? You said that you didn’t mind being used.”
Broch said that he didn’t, though it was easy to see how he could be. How long before she brought feelings to the table? As much as he loved being with her, and he did, very much so, Broch could already see how it wasn’t going to be enough. He wanted more with her. He wanted a family, her by his side as a queen. He wanted everyone to accept her, but first, she had to accept him. Broch wanted to know when that was going to be, but at the same time, he kept reminding himself that he was supposed to give her time. How long though?
“I have real business to take care of today, human world stuff, so I might not be in till later. If you want to use me some more, just come sleep in my bed. I will wake you up when I come in.”
Christin kissed him and agreed before she took off and he was staring after her, ready to whine, just like one of those sappy puppies.

Broch was eager to get started and as soon as he got home and saw Christin in his bed, he knew that he didn’t have to wait any longer. That was all the sign he needed to know what she wanted.
Not only was she waiting in his bed for him, but she didn’t have any clothing on. Her skin was right there to touch and have for the taking. It was more than he could have asked for, definitely more than he deserved. Every time he was with her, touching her perfect flesh, he felt unworthy.
Christin didn’t take much to wake up. He was already between her legs when her eyes opened though. She smiled at him in that way, and then moaned as he made her come repeatedly. Broch could never get enough of her. He tried, really he did, but the more he had of Christin, the more he wanted. It was never going to be enough. He needed to hear her say yes.
Before he would enter her, Broch made her give him a yes to the question of marriage. He knew that he was using sex to his advantage, using her desires against her, but that wasn’t to be helped. Broch was desperate to get her on his side and under his protection. With so much against dragons being said, Broch didn’t want anyone to get any ideas. Once she was claimed as his, no one would dare touch her.
Broch finally got his answer and he sunk in as deeply and as quickly as he could. Broch knew that there was a lot that needed to be worked out, but he was ready to do that. Nothing else mattered but Christin and William. Broch hoped that soon they would have some children of their own. He didn’t care how they turned out, because they would be theirs.
They laid together for a while after they were done. Christin was fidgety and Broch asked her why that was.
“I don’t know, it’s just the idea of getting married again. I don’t know how I feel about that. My last marriage was a mess, as you can imagine.”
“Our marriage will be nothing like that. We aren’t going to be like that. I would never treat you the way that Phillip did. He put you in a cage, Christin. You didn’t deserve that.”
“I know, I just worry that this isn’t going to be the same and I really don’t want us to change.”
