Sarah didn't know what to say. She was so turned on and she probably would have agreed wholeheartedly with the idea that she wanted him, too. Sarah did and she didn’t see a point in denying it.
“Whether I want to or not, doesn’t matter. We just can't, Harold.”
About the time she said no again, her parents were pulling up and Sarah didn't know if she was relieved or what it was that she was feeling. Maybe it was relief, because now she had a few minutes to work out what was going on between them. She had told herself over and over again before they left for the cabin that she would do her best to not fall into his arms. She had reminded herself again and again that he was her boss and thus off limits. But it was hard for her to remember all of a sudden why she was supposed to stay away. Most possibly because she didn't want to stay away. Sarah so badly wanted the feelings that he made her feel. She was desperate for it, desperate for him.
Harold sighed when he saw her parents in the car. He told Sarah that they were going to talk about it later.
“Later?”
“Yeah, it seems silly to deny ourselves what we both want so badly. Am I wrong to think that you want this?”
Her mind was running a mile a minute and before he could say anything else, her mother was getting out of the vehicle and asking her to help with the bags. Of course, she said, anything to give her a little bit of space between her and Harold. He was really messing with her head and sadly it didn't even seem like he was doing it on purpose. She was just that messed up over him.
Chapter 20
Harold
The cabin was full, and they were going to have a good time. It only had two bedrooms and while Harold was perfectly happy to sleep in the room and bed with Sarah, he knew that that sort of suggestion would not be looked at favorably, especially by her parents. That meant that Harold had to pretend like he wasn't dying inside for her. That was easier said than done. He had been thinking about what was going to happen between the two of them the whole time. Harold would have been a liar to say that he didn't want exactly that to happen. Because he did. It was all he could think about since the last kiss. And before that, he was thinking about it since they had first met. Sarah had taken up a large swath of his mind for a while.
But, because her parents were there with him, he volunteered to sleep on the couch. It wasn't a very comfortable couch and considering how much money Harold had, it was almost laughable, but he went along with it. He liked the idea of the ability to roam free, because he was feeling so antsy. Being around Sarah, not being able to touch her and taste her like he wanted, denying himself in general, was hard on him. As a very rich human, he was usually able to get anything that he wanted. But now things were different. Sarah could somehow tell him no, a fact that he did not like very much. He didn't want to hear no from Sarah. He wanted her to say yes, over and over again, in satisfaction. Harold dreamed of her. No one there to break it up, just the two of them.
Everyone decided that they were tired pretty early on. Harold looked forward to some time to himself, but Sarah was looking very nervous. She wanted a little bit of time to pull herself together and who could blame her? Harold needed some time, too. He just wanted to be spending his free time with her.
He wanted to be spending his time with Sarah in the bedroom and not by himself. Harold was going to go to bed very uncomfortable that evening. He knew that he was not going to be able to sleep. After a time, he went for a walk in the woods, knowing that he needed a full run.
Harold shifted into his beast, and he was soon a lion, running through the woods hard and fast. He didn't stop until he could barely pick up his legs, anymore. By then, he had circled around and was back to the cabin. He wanted to believe that everything would be better, that he would be able to handle himself in an easier manner. Something.
None of that actually happened, though. Instead, he got back to the cabin, and everybody was asleep. He tried to lay down on the couch, but there was just no getting comfortable. He knew that it wasn’t the couch’s fault, it was because of his own needs and desires. It didn't matter how comfortable he was, he was not going to be able to go to sleep if that meant he couldn't have Sarah. All of it came back to her.
Harold couldn't stay still. He had too much energy inside of him beginning to come out and he didn't know how to stop it. All Harold wanted was a little bit of peace.
Finally, like a moth to a flame, he went to Sarah's door and knocked on it. He knocked so lightly because he didn't want to wake anybody else up, but hard enough that she would actually hear it. She was the only one that was going to give him absolution that night and help him to sleep. Harold didn't know what it was he was there for, but when she didn't respond, he pushed the door open slightly. He just had to see her, see that she was asleep. He was not sure exactly what for, just that he needed to.
Harold couldn't believe that she was so close, yet so far out of reach. He wanted to believe that he could have her right then and there, like he got everything else. That was all he was focused on, getting Sarah. How hard would it have been to wake her up with pleasure? She wouldn't have been able to tell him no, even if she wanted to. Harold knew that for sure. He could tell every time that they were together, her heart would slam in her chest. He also knew that Sarah had been prepared for him earlier in the water. He’d smelled her readiness, not even needing to feel it to know it was there.
Now though, Sarah was sleeping so peacefully, and he paused at the door, longing to go in there and wake her up. He wanted to wake her up so badly, but knew that it wasn't right. He shouldn't do such a thing, even now knowing that she wanted him. It didn't feel right. Harold was just going to have to hold it in a little longer.
He watched her sleep for what felt like hours. He found a little bit of peace in being close to her, even if it was only to watch her sleep. Harold was willing to take anything and everything at this point. He just wanted to be close to her. There were so many things that he wanted, but Sarah took the cake. She came into his life and had not left his mind since.

Sarah's heartbeat turned rapid at some point, almost as fast as when she was awake. He wondered what she was dreaming about to make her act that way. Was he in the dream? Or was it a dream that made her afraid?
He didn't like the latter. He liked the idea that she was in the midst of a great dream about him. That she was thinking about being with him at the same time, that he was thinking about being with her. It just seemed so poetic, and it made him feel better about his current state.
That wasn't to be, though. Harold knew a lot of things about a person, but he didn't know how to find out what she was dreaming about. If he had been able to read it, to learn more about her, he would have. Instead though, he had to focus on other things, like how he was going to walk away.
He didn’t want to drive himself crazy, so Harold went outside of the room and took a deep breath. He was about to go back to the couch when he heard a familiar voice. It was like Carolyn was always there, knowing what was going on. It unnerved him. How many times had she just popped up?
“Is Sarah still awake? I thought she went to bed a while ago?”
He told her that she wasn't and to her credit, Carolyn didn't even ask what was going on. She had that damn look on her face again, like she knew, anyway. Harold didn't know what to think of Carolyn, just that he wanted her to explain the mysterious look that came into her eyes when she looked at him. What was it about the woman that made him feel so uneasy?
“I have to say, I’m quite surprised that you came.”
Harold smiled and then said that he didn't really have a choice, once Sarah insisted.
“She's hard to say no to, isn't she?”
