Evie acted like she would die if she didn’t.

She looked up at him and then closed her eyes, feeling absolutely honored to take him into her mouth. Her hand started to stroke, and her full lips kissed the under the head of his cock right where his shaft started. She licked the vein and drove him as far back as she could handle.

The loving feeling warmed his whole soul. She wasn’t rapid or impatient with it, but slow and deliberate. He finally came again with hot spurts down in her mouth.

Later on, they lay entwined in each other’s arms again, their passionate kissing never stopping. Something built within Caleb’s heart. Every way she touched him, he couldn’t get enough of it. He lowly whispered, “How could I ever thank you?”

Itusedbe that he would tell her what happened in his past that made everyone so cautious about him. But she gathered enough from Joshua’s stories that perhaps she would finally leave it alone. Everyone thought Caleb Wright was a drunken service member with a bad temper and a tenacity to be abusive. Boy, he was anythingbutthat.

“You don’t need to thank me,” she said in a smile.

He moaned in a grinning delight, “How about breakfast?”

Evie offered to have a proper breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby, but Caleb refused, stating that he’d rather take her to a place a little bit better. Off of Eagle Rock Lake there was the family diner called the Eagle Lodge, and that was where they shared a beautiful breakfast together overlooking the scenic lake. The deepest days of winter were frosty and cold, but it seemed like it was now going to be a mild and quick winter. She sipped her hot chocolate in a way that left her savoring every sip. The surrounding trees sparkled on the rims of the lake. So many maple trees, oak and other ones she didn’t know.

Caleb leaned over on his hand with his gigantic breakfast steak with nothing but blood smears on his plate, and he kept watching her eyes stay closed.

“Really enjoying that hot chocolate, are we?”

She almost didn’t hear him talking to her because of how lost in a daydream she was.

“It’s homemade! You can tell!” she happily replied. Then she looked out the large glass window again. The docks were alive with fisherman bundled up and ready to go out again, all yelling and playfully bickering with each other about how their wives were probably enjoying the peace and quiet away from them. “I love it here. I’ve never been here before.”

“You haven’t?” he asked.

“No, I would love to live by the water. I’d love to have horses too. Someday I will.”

He offered a toast of his coffee to her hot chocolate. “Someday, you definitely will. You’ll live by the water and have all the horses you could ever want.”

The morning haze hovered over the dark lake, and she watched a bald eagle splash into the water, catching a hefty fish. The fisherman on the dock yelled, “Why can’t we have that kinda luck?”

She laughed.

Once more, Caleb paid the bill, and she thanked him. The long drive home would’ve been a long drive to anyone else, being forty-five minutes, but to Caleb it was a backroads stroll. He occasionally looked at Evie who was snuggled in his sweater against the window, closing her eyes in happy thought. He reached out and grabbed her hand, causing her attention to come to him. She smiled back and sat up to enjoy theview of the road and that big hand engulfing hers. Their eyes met, and he smiled. “I meant what I said last night.”

He really believed he did.

Relief. Evie replied with love in her eyes, “I did too.”

Then her playful side came back out as she crawled a bit over to kiss his cheek. He laughed and turned to kiss her quickly. Evie’s head rested against his strong bicep like a gentle lamb ready to sleep in a sunlit field. The road hummed underneath them, and she held his hand on the center console.

They came to her house, and before she got out, he pulled her in for a luscious kiss. She snuggled her nose to his chin and closed her eyes. “I have to confess something.”

“What’s that?”

“My house is an absolute mess due to my depression. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. I don’t judge people.”

She sweetly teased while touching his chest, “Wanna fuck me again inside?”

He was surprised all over again. He withdrew his head and quirked his brows down to her. “I always painted ya to be the sweet, innocent type. You were so not like that last night. Nor this morning. What gives?”

She brushed his arm with a teasing grin. “I can be, but I feel comfortable around you. I feel like I don’t have to be all prim and proper all the time.”

He snickered. “You most certainly don’t!”

Not even a few minutes later, Caleb was on her again holding her down to bed. She had been like the only drug that ever fixed him, and he was the only therapy she wanted. After their second coupling, Caleb ordered takeout and showered with her, kissing every part of her body and washing her hair. He finally got the best back scratch of his life. They ate, watched movies, made love, cuddled on the couch, on the floor tangled up in the bed sheets. It had been five times they had made love, but even though Caleb was wearing low on his stamina, neither one of them wanted to be done.
