So, that’s why her ass was over here cooking like it was her job!

This little girl actually smiled and blushed with Lennox, like I wasn’t sitting there. I turned to look at him, my eyes narrowing at him. He looked at me and nervously cleared his throat.

I bounced my eyes back over to my mama, who suddenly looked uncomfortable all of a sudden.

I didn’t even have to ask—they were creeping around!

When I looked back at Lennox, he was staring at me.

I felt jealousy rush over me. I didn’t want anyone with my mama because I didn’t trust anyone with her except for me. After watching Orlando hurt her over and over again, I didn’t want anyone near her again.

But she also deserved to be happy after dealing with my dad for so long.

I held Lennox’s gaze firmly for a moment before I smiled, letting him know that I trusted him.

“Just don’t be making any babies and shit. I like being my mama’s only child,” I said. Lennox laughed when Mama slapped fire from my ass. Kairi giggled and then started helping me eat my food like she hadn’t had enough!

I took that moment to look around at my family. Two people were missing, but I like to think that they were in heaven together, watching over me.

Sincere, keep my brother out of trouble and save a spot for me!

I stepped into the warehouse, and everyone stood to their feet in silence. As I passed by, my footsteps echoing, I took note of all who were in attendance. They were all there for me, and I was there for them, too.

My eyes caught Shakur’s, and he gave me a sly smirk. It was crazy how we went from not liking or understanding each other to being in each other’s corners.

He was the version of Kairi that mirrored me and someone I held close. Nobody could ever replace my brother, but I found another brother in my eyes.

Hell would always be my right-hand man, but I was happy to know he was up there keeping Sincere company.

I felt a sense of pride wash over me, knowing he would be proud seeing me now. I’d grown in just a few weeks, and it was all thanks to my two angels.

Oblique saluted me, and Hayden bowed like a fucking idiot, making me shake my head at him while he chuckled.

I made it to the front and turned to face them.

“All eyes on me,” I said, and looked around to see that they already were!

CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN

KAIRI SANCHEZ-MOORE

TWO YEARS LATER

“Kelechi Sincere Sanchez, if you don’t stop,” I warned my son, who wanted to play instead of eating his food.

I tried once more and sighed when he pushed my hand away. All I wanted him to do was eat.

“You better leave my son alone, Kairi.” Makari walked in. As soon as Kelechi saw his dad, he started acting up even more.

“You did that on purpose!” I fussed.

Makari knew that any time our son saw him, he just wanted to play. I’d told him when it was mealtimes to stay out of the kitchen because of it. Kelechi had his arms up in the air, and of course, his stupid ass daddy picked him up.

Baby boy squealed when Makari rubbed his nose on his stomach.

“Y’all can clean that mess up then!” I snapped.

They both turned to look at me. My son had my face but none of my ways, which only pissed me off more. When he was born, and I saw he looked just like me, I thought he would act like me, too. But he was boisterous just like Makari.
