I just managed to fall out of the room, missing their shots by inches. I crawled into the bathroom and kicked the door closed.

I heard the front door be kicked in, and I knew those other niggas had gotten into the house. They fired through the door, trying to hit me. I had to climb into the bathtub to shield myself. Then I heard their heavy footsteps coming upstairs.

I lifted my hand over the bath and fired again, then I heard a body hit the ground.

“Where’s the other bitch?!” someone yelled about Kairi.

“In the closet,” one responded.

“Nobody is there,” I heard someone else say.

Where the fuck did she go?

As I ran out of the room, I knew I had seen her go into the closet, so how could she be gone?

Someone tapped on the balcony window, scaring the fuck outta me. I relaxed when I saw it was Kairi. She was waving for me to come to her. I fired at the door again, drawing their attention, and got to Kairi on the balcony.

“Here,” she said, handing me two more guns. I noticed she had one in her hand too.

“Do you know how to shoot that?” I asked because if not, we were as good as dead. Kairi gave me a pointed look before she said, “Do you not know my husband? He’s been teaching me from the moment I set foot in this house. Now follow me.”

Instead of going into the bedroom, Kairi climbed up to the roof. I realized that was how she escaped from the bedroom. She led me to a door and used her thumbprint to open it.

We crept into the attic. All I could do was stare at her because I wasn’t expecting this at all. I half thought she’d get a chance to escape and leave me alone to die, but she came back for me.

“Come on,” she said, leading me over to the large picture frame. She put her hand on it, and it opened like a door. Of course, Havoc would build a house like a maze. He didn’t have to tell me; I know Sincere taught him that.

We walked down a pathway until we reached another door. Kairi put her finger up to her mouth, telling me to keep quiet, and then pressed her ear up against the wall. After a few seconds, she pushed it open and stepped out into Havoc’s den.

Kairi walked over to Havoc’s desk and typed something into his computer that brought up the cameras.

“Okay, there are three of them in the kitchen, the rest are upstairs searching for us,” she said, looking at me.

“I’ll go upstairs. If you go through this door, it will lead you to the kitchen. I know you got this, I don’t even have to ask,” she said, smiling at me. “You’ll know your signal when you hear it,” she said before grabbing a metal ball out of Havoc’s desk. I nodded.

Kairi then went back through the door we came through, and it closed behind her.

For the first time since I discovered this girl, I had to give her respect. In the face of danger, she didn’t even flinch.

I took a deep breath and headed through the door she told me. As I slowly crept toward the kitchen, I could hear the dudes talking.

Bang!

I almost jumped out of my skin when a loud explosion went off upstairs, followed by two gunshots. I knew that was the signal Kairi was telling me about.

“They’re upstairs!” I heard one of the three men in the kitchen yell out. They ran out into the hallway, and I lit their asses up. Once I saw them drop, I rushed upstairs to find Kairi. She came out of a guest room, and her shoulders dropped in relief when she saw it was me.

“They’re all dead?” I asked. She nodded.

I went to the rooms to see for myself. In one of the guest rooms, Kairi had killed two with the nail bomb I saw her take from Havoc’s desk. The other one she hit in the head in the master bedroom.

We double checked that everybody was dead, and then Kairi hit the panic button, alerting Havoc.

I looked at her like she was crazy.

“You mean to tell me, you could have done that from the beginning?”

Here we were playing GI Jane when all she had to do was hit a single button, and Havoc would have come back.
