“My new house and let’s say nine? That way we both can get a little sleep?” I questioned, not sure if he’d be up for it.

“I’ll be there.”

“Just like that?” My laugh was soft.

“Just like that, bug.”

“I’m going to try to get some sleep.” The yawn came almost instantly when the last word came out of my mouth.

“Go to bed, bug, and I’ll see you in the morning.”

I hung up the phone before any more was said. I’d asked Drew for one night and I was going to take the rest of that night, even if it meant not talking to him anymore. I pulled a blanket over me and curled around the pillow I’d had between my legs. Morning was going to come fast and I knew that with my tired eyes, but somehow I didn’t mind it.

I was asking for the night, but deep down, I knew it was because after tonight, everything would be different.
