And Samael roiled with fury.

Uh-oh.

I sent him a caress down the bond, wishing I could stay here for longer. But without my power, I was too weak to fight against Lucifer’s spell.

The connection slammed shut. I opened my eyes to find myself on my knees. I could taste copper in my mouth, and I raised my hand to find my nose bleeding. Pischiel lay on the ground, his face ashen.

“Did I kill you?”

He groaned, cracking open one eye. “Almost. I’m guessing some of it was because you can’t instinctively reach for Samael while Lucifer is suppressing your bond. And because you don’t have access to your powers. The rest of it was just plain incompetence.”

I scowled at him, and he was obviously feeling better, because he gave me a weak grin. “Don’t worry, princess. Now you know how to do it, it’ll be easier next time. If anything, I’d be more concerned about the rage I could feel from your bondmate. And let me tell you, I’m exceptionally glad for our new bond, since he wouldloveto kill me.”

DANICA

Thanks to the pain I’d put my body through earlier in the day, it didn’t take me long to fall asleep that night.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I found Samael standing in front of me, his gaze burning into mine.

“Have you been waiting for me?” It wouldn’t surprise me if Samael could dip in and out of sleep as he willed it.

He ignored that. “Tell me the truth,” he said silkily. “Do you have feelings for him?”

I blinked. “What?”

His expression turned feral, and his hand came up and caught my chin. I allowed it, since it seemed like my demon was a man on the edge.

“It’s a yes or no question, Danica.”

That was quite enough of that.

I yanked my chin free and slammed my hands into his chest. The bastard didn’t even have the decency to move an inch. Instead, his eyes shone with a predatory gleam. He was one hundred percent domineering demon male.

“Of course I don’t have feelings for Pischiel. But you better check your tone, because—”

His hand was buried in my hair, and his mouth was slamming down on mine before I could get out another word.

He’d been pushed too far. Being away from me for so long, knowing I was in danger, and now feeling like Pischiel was encroaching on his territory…

It had driven his instincts wild.

“Mmph,” I muttered, and my mind went blank.

Then the world spun around me, and my stomach hit the arm of a chair as he bent me over, my clothes disappearing.

“Samael,” I began, but he was already leaning over me, biting my nape, licking the shell of my ear. One hand slid to my waist, holding me in place, and his other hand found my core.

“Already wet for me,” he growled as I clenched with a gasp. “As you should be.”

He pushed against my entrance, hard and thick in this position, filling me up, thrusting deep, until he was buried inside me.

His hand moved from my waist to my neck, gently encircling my throat. His teeth found the sensitive spot where my shoulder met my neck, and I groaned as he bit down.

“Samael,” I gasped out, but he was driving into me now, again and again as I writhed beneath him.

“Tell me you’re mine,” he demanded, gently squeezing my throat. I clenched around him so hard I saw stars.
