Hendrix shivers dramatically. "Your Dom voice is so sexy.”

"I'm sorry," I say to Callan. "Please ignore him."

"It's fine. I'm actually intrigued."

I stare at him. It's an effort to keep my jaw closed rather than let it hang open like a letterbox. "You are?"

He nods. "What would it involve?"

"Didn't I just tell you?" Hendrix asks.

"I'd like Rory to tell me."

Hendrix rolled his eyes. "Of course you would. I'll leave you to it. Don't blow it," Hendrix says to me in a low tone.

I don't think there's anything to mess up. I'm pretty sure that Callan is being polite.

“Hendrix,” I say, stopping him.

He looks at me, eyebrow raised.

“I’ve got something for you.”

“For me? As an apology?”

“For what?”

“Rejecting me,” he says in a dramatic voice.

“Don’t push your luck.” I take Lyric’s business card out of my pocket and hand it to him. “You’ll get more use out of this than I will.”

Hendrix stares at the business card, eyes wide. “Is this for real?”

“Aye. I met him last night at the pub.”

“Oh. My. God! Thank you!” Hendrix flings his arms around my neck and gives me a hug Theo would be proud of. “I knew you liked me.”

I grunt. “Don’t go telling anyone.”

He lets me go, kisses the business card, and goes, leaving Callan and me alone. Things feel more awkward than they did a few minutes ago before Hendrix walked into the room.

"Would you tell me what it would involve?" Callan asks.

"You want to know?"

He nods.

"Okay. But on one condition."

Callan raises his eyebrow.

"You tell me what you would call the baby."

"I haven't even thought about it."

"Well, start thinking. You've got until I’ve finished explaining."

"Okay."
