“I’ll stop distracting you.”
He puts cupcake cases into three baking trays and then half fills each one with cake mix that’s a delicate yellow colour.
“Lemon?” I ask.
“Yes. I’ll make chocolate cupcakes next.”
While he puts the cakes in the oven, I wash the stand mixer. He has multiple bowls, so he doesn’tneedto wash up between every batch, but I’m happy to make his life easier. He gets to work on the chocolate cupcakes straight away. I love watching him work. He’s so focused when he’s baking. Assuming I’m not distracting him anyway. After the chocolate cupcakes are in the oven, he makes a batch of loaf cakes, by which point it’s time to take the lemon cupcakes out to cool.
“I think hiring someone else would be a good idea,” I say as he gets to work on a batch of scones. “We could go on holiday.”
“Where would we go?”
“We could relive our tour of Europe.”
Fitz laughs. “Do you really want to slum it in youth hostels?”
“Sure, why not? Or we could stay in hotels. What about Japan?”
“In cherry blossom season?”
I smile. “Yes.”
Fitz pauses and stares into my eyes. “Next spring?”
“It’ll be expensive. It’s one of the most popular times of year to visit Japan.”
Fitz shrugs. “I haven’t had a holiday in five years. I think I can manage to scrape enough pennies together if you can.”
“I can.”
“Then let’s do it. I’ll have hired someone else by then and will be able to trust them to run the shop for a week or two. Japan. Next spring. You, me, and the cherry blossom.” He holds his little finger out. “Pinkie swear?”
I hook my finger around his. “Pinkie swear.”
“Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to chase you out of my kitchen before you distract me even more.” He pushes onto his toes and puts his hand around my neck so he can pull me to him for a kiss. “I’m looking forward to exploring our purchases tonight.”
“Tonight?”
“Yes,” he whispers against my lips before kissing me again. “Now shoo!”
I laugh as I leave him to it. I go just as Bobby and Janine let themselves in the front door. I say hello to them briefly before heading back to my van with a silly grin on my face. I’m looking forward to tonight, to next spring, and every moment between now and forever because I’ll be spending them with Fitz.
Chapter16
Fitz
After a relaxing evening joking around and watching TV, we go to my bedroom and relax some more, only this time we’re naked and enjoying a heavy kissing session. We’ve got the heating turned up, so we don’t get cold, but we run our hands all over each other as though we’re trying to keep warm. Sometimes I’m lying over Addy as we kiss and touch and grind our cocks together gently. Other times we’re side by side, but the best moments are when he’s lying over me, a giant comfort blanket that helps me truly relax. We’ve got everything we’ll need on hand—the lube Deacon recommended, the smallest anal plugs, even a bowl of soapy water to drop them straight in when we’re done.
No matter how relaxed I get, butterflies are fluttering in my stomach. There’s a ball of concern inside me that I can’t take hold of and throw away. What if I don’t like it? What if Addy doesn’t? I remind myself how much I liked him thrusting his cock between my thighs, especially when his length had rubbed against my taint and arsehole. It had felt so good.
“Ready?” Addy asks before slipping his tongue into my mouth and kissing me so hard I momentarily forget what the hell he’s talking about.
Ball of nerves aside, I’m so relaxed right now I could melt like a marshmallow held over a bonfire.
“Yes,” I whisper as I kiss my way over his cheek and run my fingers through his beard and hair.
He dips his lips to my neck and presses soft kisses against my throat.
