Colt lets out a dark chuckle. “Wanna hop on the jet? We could literally recreate our first time.”

He kisses along my shoulder, his mouth warm against my skin, and I feel him starting to soften me. I close my eyes as his lips graze my neck, then my earlobe, sending a hot shiver down my spine. My fingers slip into his hair as I turn to kiss him.

And then I’m airborne.

He scoops me up and tosses me onto the bed, making me squeal as I bounce against the mattress. He follows, crawling up over me with a cocky grin. “Cancel tonight?” he murmurs, trailing kisses down my throat.

I smile but shake my head.

His mouth returns to mine, tongue teasing, hips grinding, and suddenly, I’m not as firm in my resolve.

When he pins my wrist above my head and his cock presses against me, I moan into the kiss, my body arching for more.God, this man knows what he’s doing.

He pulls back, both of us breathless. “Cancel tonight?” he reiterates.

I smirk and shake my head again, enjoying the game too much.

He exhales and drops his head to my neck. “Man, I hate letting a good boner go to waste.”

I laugh. “We could cancel. But they’d still all show up.”

“We have locks on the bedroom door,” he mutters.

“My parents will be here.”

Colt groans. “Yeah, that’s a no. I really don’t want your dad hearing me wreck you.”

“No one wants that,” I agree.

He groans dramatically. “So, I guess we should get ready then?” He sighs again. “Or… what’s ten more minutes?”

Twenty minutes later, we finally emerge, flushed, satisfied, and cutting it close.

Anna and Johnny arrive first, then Hux, Dingo, and Sia. Aston’s staying with Anna’s mum, and everyone has a guest room lined up. The manor is buzzing with energy. The kitchen is transformed. Shot glasses line the counter, and the smell of party food fills the space. I’m plating snacks when Colt walks over and pulls me aside, out of earshot.

“Hey,” he says quietly, almost nervously. “Can I talk to you for a sec?”

I nod.

He lowers his voice, glancing at the others before returning his eyes to mine. “I just wanted to say… I haven’t been out in a long time. You know that. I’m okay. I feel okay. I want you to know I’ve got this.”

The look in his eyes makes it clear that he’s not talking about partying.

He’s talking abouttemptation.

Substances.

It hadn’t even crossed my mind until now, and I curse myself for it.

“I know you’re doing great, Colt. I see it. But do you trust yourself?” I ask softly.

He swallows and nods, quiet but sure. “Yeah. I do. I feel stronger than I have in months. And if anyone even offered me something tonight, I’d walk away. No question. I’ve got too much to lose.”

I wrap my arms around him. “Then I trust you. Just keep an eye on Hux. He’s been off lately.”

“I’ve noticed. I’ll check in with him. But listen, I mean it… I won’t screw this up. I want you to enjoy tonight and not spend it worrying about me.”

“I won’t,” I say. “But if anything feels off… come home. Just come home to me, okay?”
