“I’m so sorry, Plum.”Kiss.“I would never betray you.”Kiss.“My body knows who it belongs to and would never let me betray you.”Kiss.“I will crawl on my hands and knees for you for the rest of my life. I promise, Sweet Plum, you are the only woman these hands have ever touched.” One more kiss, “the only omega these hands will ever touch again.”
“I believe you,” I whisper, breathless for an entirely different reason now. His lips touched my skin for the first time in so long, and it feels so damn good. I want to kiss him, damn him. I want to present for the three of them. Bend over and wiggle my cute ass in the air.
I’m going to settle for teasing them instead.
Kai releases me but doesn’t get up until Nick grabs his elbow, helping him to his feet.
“Go change. Wear something festive for decorating. She’ll like that,” Nick says to him, and Kai nods, eyes still locked on me. “Alright, Omega, get dressed so we can get started. I’ll go grab the boxes.” To Benson, he says, “Meet me down there once you put some clean pants on, yeah?”
Benson chuckles, pressing a kiss to my head before heading past Nick toward the door.
“Something festive!” I holler at his back, and he waves his hand in response.
When it’s just Nick and me, I stretch out on the bed, leaning back on my hands. I’m still very naked. His eyes darken as he takes in the sight of my body.
“Benson is a virgin, and you were Kai’s first and only…” Nick puts his knee on the bed and drops his weight over me, holdinghimself up with his hands on either side of my body. “Two things I can’t claim. I am not a virgin.” Nick presses his face into the crook of my neck and nuzzles, marking me with his scent. I let out a little gasp of need, my head falling to the side to give him room. “But, when I knot you, you will be my first.” He bites down on the sensitive skin of my shoulder, hard enough that I know it’ll be red for the rest of the day, and I moan. “My knot will belong to you, and only you, Omega. You will be the first and the last to have that claim over me.”
“Promises, promises,” I mutter, eyes falling shut as he licks the ache away from my bruised skin.
Are Nick’s words just a part of the game we’ve been playing for years, or does he really mean them? And if he does mean them, am I ready for what they mean?
I don’t know for sure, but I really want to find out, and that’s something I haven’t felt in a while.
Chapter Eighteen
“No, no! Not like that!” I complain, taking the giant mess of red velvet away from Benson, and fix the ribbon into a perfect bow. “See. All pretty now.” I hand it back to him and glance around the den. I was right. It looks amazing, all decorated for Christmas.
For some reason, they own four Christmas trees. The largest one of them is next to the fireplace. A safe distance away, of course. For this room, I made the guys stick to a more traditional theme.
The iridescent red, silver, and gold globes shimmer in the light while warm lights wrap around the tree. In between the antique pressed-tin ornaments that match the large star at the top, some of my own stained glass stars sit proudly. I wonder if these alphas have been buying all of my pieces.
“This is my new favorite room,” I tell them as Kai places a rustic wood snowman on the mantle.
“Not my bedroom?” Nick asks, and I snort.
“Close third.” I shrug.
“What!? What’s second?” he demands, mocking outrage.
“My workshop.”
“Damn, I rate lower than manual labor.”
“Hey, at least your room is on her list,” Kai says with a teasing grin, before wincing. “I think I’ll just have to make the living room my new bedroom…” he mutters, and I chuckle.
“Shut up, Kai,” Nick and Benson say at the same time, and my chuckle turns into a full-on laugh, because that's the fifth time that’s happened.
Kai’s grin is pure smug satisfaction. He seems to enjoy riling the alphas up until they gang up on him.
“Hot cocoa?” I ask, glancing around.
“I’ll make it; you three sit,” Kai offers, jumping at the chance to help.
“No, I’ll make it. You three stay here. I’ll be right back.”
As I hustle out of the den, I take one last look at the three men. None of them have left my side for over five hours of decorating, and I need a second to breathe. I also think they need a chance to talk, without me listening to every word.
