He’d been stealing kisses from me any chance he got, but we hadn’t managed to do anything sexual since the first night in my nightmare of a dorm.

I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t wanted more.

Rafe was beautiful. His body was a work of art laid out in front of me, leaving just enough room on the bed for me to slip between him and Aiden. Rafe had a veryexperiencedair around him, like he knew what to do with women without having to be an outward playboy.

“Aren’t you supposed to be invited in?” I asked, keeping my voice low. Part of me thought Aiden would have woken up as soon as Rafe climbed into bed, but it was a sign of their growing trust that he stayed asleep, even through our speaking.

Rafe chuckled quietly. “I’m not a vampire, darling.”

I resisted the urge to shiver.

He sighed, his expression shifting. “But I can go if you’d like.”

I shook my head as he spoke.

“You can stay, I just don’t want Aiden disturbed.”

“Never,” Rafe said, all teasing gone from his tone. I raised an eyebrow at him and he only grinned.

I turned to my dresser to change, watching Rafe from the corner of my eye. His gaze didn’t leave me once, his dark eyes burning into me. He watched as the towel dropped to the ground, then barely stifled a groan as I pulled on some panties and a tank top.

I shivered. The air conditioner was on again. If Zephyr wasn’t trashed right now, I’d tell him to turn it off. He was wasting money by having it on inFebruary.

“Is that all you wear to bed?” Rafe whispered as I put a knee down at the foot of the bed.

“You know it is,” I said with an eye-roll.

“No, lately you’ve been wearing his t-shirt.”

“Stalker,” I whispered as I crawled up the bed.

“That’s why you love me,” he whispered back, flashing me a sexy grin. I paused, my lips parting in shock, and Rafe’s grin slowly melted off his face.

His words were said teasingly, as a joke, but they settled heavily in my gut.

I’d never forgive myself for keeping those three words from Aiden when he’d given himself over to me so completely.

Did I love Rafe?

I…wasn’t sure. But I was sure Icouldlove him one day. Maybe soon.

The look on Rafe’s face broke my heart. He looked like he was ready for a rejection. He’d put all his cards on the table, just trying to spend the night with me, and now he looked ready to be turned away.

Before I could overthink it, I surged forward, planting my hands on either side of his head and lowering myself to kiss him.

Rafe met my lips eagerly, sighing like he couldn’t quite believe what was happening.

Neither could I.

Although, we were just kissing. It’s not like this was going any further. We werejustkissing.

In bed.

While he was practically naked.

AndIwas practically naked.

On top of him.
