But our next encounter in his office proved me wrong on several of those points. One, he was definitely passionate, but in the opposite direction.

Wyatt would be brutal. I could just tell.

And now that I knew he liked a little pain?

I moaned into the next kiss, his soft lips coaxing mine open. Our first two encounters were rushed. Passionate and hungry, but hurried. The way he was kissing me now was different. Slow. Completely open and unguarded. This was who Wyatt really was.

Maybe part of me liked the push and pull between us.

I definitely liked knowing that I drove him insane.

I wanted to see where that fire led us. I wanted him to stumble after me into my room, where we could fall into bed together and he could completely devastate me the way I’d always known he would.

But that didn’t happen. Instead, he pulled back, resting his forehead against mine.

“You okay?” I asked, my voice embarrassingly breathy. If he ran away from me again…

Wyatt breathed a laugh. “No.”

“Wyatt…” I whispered, my heart pounding. “Come to bed.”

Wyatt was silent for several seconds, and that was an answer on its own. My heart sank. I thought we’d made progress tonight, but maybe we hadn’t. Maybe I was pushing too hard, and he wasn’t ready. I didslap him several times during our last conversation, maybe sex or a hookup wasn’t on the table.

Ugh.Of courseit wasn’t on the table. I was pushing this way too fast after he’d asked for things to be slow, and–

“Not tonight,” Wyatt replied, grinding my thoughts to a halt.

I smiled.

Not tonight. That didn’t meannever.

Chapter 39

Skye

I slippedinto the bedroom as quietly as possible. Aiden had fallen asleep immediately after realizing Wyatt wasn’t coming in, so I was in the clear.

I stared at my face a little too long in the mirror while the shower heated up. I heard a thump from Zephyr’s room down the hall, and I rolled my eyes. His drunk ass was probably going to have all kinds of random bruises tomorrow morning.

I braided my hair then showered quickly, really just wanting to rinse myself off before bed. I stepped out into my room only wearing a towel, and then paused.

There wasn’t just one man-sized lump in my bed.

There were two.

My breath caught for just a moment, thinking that maybe it was Wyatt. Maybe he’d changed his mind, and he was taking his chance on my good mood.

Aiden liked sleeping with the canopy closed, but one side was open, revealing the dark hunk of man inside. I padded to the bed, still only in a towel, then stopped at the foot of the bed and planted my hands on my hips.

Aiden was totally passed out, laying on his stomach with his armscrossed under the pillow. His hair was adorably tousled and in his face, his lips slightly parted as he slept.

I looked to the other lump.

“Hmm,” I hummed quietly. “What’s this?”

“Hello, love.” Rafe purred.

Rafe was practically naked. His shirt was off and his usual dark jeans were gone. He only wore some dark boxer shorts and a wicked grin. He lay on his back, his arms crossed behind his head. His tattoo was fully visible, and my mind decided to paint me a quick picture of what it would be like to lick every inch of his skin on display.
