“What the fuck?”
Gabe’s exclamation echoed Soren’s own thoughts as they pulled into the large clearing. There were all the trappings of acamping trip: a firepit, camping chairs, a little tent off to the side. There was Alexei, nodding at their approach. There was Jay, literally jumping up and down, waving and yelling their names.
And then there was an honest-to-God RV, one of those long metal ones that looked like a tin can had made a baby with a spaceship.
Soren kept his eyes on it as Gabe parked to the side, and they both made their way out of the car.
“You made it!” Jay cried, running up to them and looking dangerously close to clapping in delight.
Soren kept his distance, using Gabe’s body as a shield. Jay’s hands were already looking filthy—what had he been doing, digging for worms in the dirt?—and Soren was having none of it. He pointed to the RV. “What’s this, Jaybird?”
“Do you like it?” Jay asked, almost pulling off coy, if not for the delighted gleam in his gray eyes.
Soren pursed his lips, unwilling to part with his pissy mood just yet. “Is it for…us?”
“Yes! For you and Gabe.” Now Jay did clap, just the once. “But it’s only a rental. I wanted to buy it for you, but Alexei said maybe we should try to make it through a single camping trip successfully before jumping the gun?”
“What does Alexei know?” But Soren was having a hard time holding back his grin as he circled the thing. He didn’t have to sleep on the ground, didn’t have to mess with nylon and mesh and zippered doors, didn’t have to breathe in the alarmingly fresh air while he tried to get his few required hours of beauty rest.
Jay beamed at him. “The others won’t be here for an hour at least, if you want to explore.”
Soren almost scoffed at that. Because explore what, exactly? The thing was going to be a glorified hallway with a bed at theend. But then he caught sight of Gabe doing some bro-shake thing with Alexei, that tank of his pulling up with the movement, his nipple peeking through.
Now Soren did grin, wide and maybe a bit manic. “What a great idea, Jaybird.” He grabbed Gabe’s hand, tugging it out of Alexei’s hold and pulling him to the RV’s door. “See you both in an hour.”
Soren could peripherally appreciatethat inside, the RV was actually pretty damn adorable, with an actual couch and a real kitchen and darling vintage vibes, but the appreciation could really only go so far when he was laser-focused on dragging Gabe to the back, where a flimsy little door was the only thing separating him from his goal.
He pushed his way inside, taking a small moment to admire the (very real, verynota dingy sleeping mat on the ground) bed—and remind himself that Jay was getting another crocheted sweater as thanks, possibly even one with kittens on it—before he hauled his muscular mate forward, pushing him onto his back on said bed and straddling him immediately after.
He unclipped his fanny pack and tossed it to the side before tugging the straps of Gabe’s tank top inward, revealing both nipples to his appreciative gaze. “There,” he purred. “That’s better.”
Gabe stared up at him, looking adorably befuddled by his manhandling. “What is—I thought there wasn’t going to be any funny business on this trip.”
Soren ran his nails lightly down Gabe’s chest, watching goose bumps form, those taunting nipples hardening at his touch. “That was before we had a convenient bed at our disposal.”
“You know we’re still surrounded bynature, don’t you?” Gabe taunted, whispering the offending word like it was a secret.
Soren rubbed his clothed ass over Gabe’s crotch, delighting in the telltale firmness he felt underneath him. “Your dick doesn’t seem to care. You’re already getting hard for me, Highness.”
“I can’t help it,” Gabe whined, his hands grasping at Soren’s hips. “You’re just so beautiful, brat.”
Soren rewarded him with another little grind, feeling Gabe’s length harden further under his ass.
Gabe bit at his lower lip, his fingers tightening. “But you also know Alexei and Jay are still right outside, with their vampire hearing and all…”
Jay’s voice rang out immediately. “We’re not listening!”
Soren rolled his eyes. True, it wasn’t like Jay hadn’t accidentally heard them getting it on before, but Soren didn’t necessarily like knowing he was performing for an audience. He twisted to yell in the general direction he’d left them in. “Jaybird, why don’t you go search for a pond or something where Monroe can do some fishing?”
“We already found one!”
“Why don’t you gocheckon it?”
He didn’t wait for an answer, trusting Alexei to sort this bit of auditory voyeurism out. He turned his full attention back to the man at his mercy, running his hands along Gabe’s bare shoulders.
Gabe smirked up at him. “So altruistic of you, thinking of Eric’s fishing at a time like this.”
“Wow. Four syllables.” Soren cocked a brow. “Really stretching your gray matter there, Highness.”
