“No worries, mon amour. I’ll be fucking you in the bed soon enough.”
Jamie glanced at his phone as they climbed into said bed after a quick shower. It was well after midnight. “Merry Christmas, monster.”
“Merry Christmas, flower.”
Jamie snuggled in close to Luc’s naked form. “Can we build a snowman tomorrow?”
“Anything you desire, mon amour.”
And wasn’t that a lovely thought?
VAMPIRE’S MATE CAMPING SHORT
Soren
Soren grimaced as he watched an alarming number of trees pass by the car window. “Just so you know, we willnotbe having sex this trip.”
Gabe’s answering sigh was soft but unmistakable. “Yes, brat, you’ve told me about a hundred times already.”
Soren huffed, lifting his hand to the window to study his nails critically. His manicure from last week was still looking fresh, and if this stupid camping trip mucked it up, he was going to lose it. “I just don’t want you getting the wrong idea, Highness.”
Even looking away, Soren could feel Gabe’s eye roll. He let it slide for the moment. Mostly because he had to keep his gaze out the window. Gabe was looking too damn good, and it was Soren who needed the reminder that nothing untoward would be happening this trip. Because Gabe had his hair held back by one of those sexy little headbands, and he was wearing one of those muscle tanks that let little peeks of nipple show. It should be illegal to wear a shirt like that when they were going outinto the filthy woods, where tempting sightings of Gabe’s bits wouldn’t do them any good.
Illegal.
Soren crossed and uncrossed his legs, adjusting the fanny pack he’d tossed his phone and a few other supplies in, trying to ignore the blood that kept wanting to rush to his cock. It was like the multiple orgasms he’d had only that morning hadn’t even happened.
Damn Gabe’s stupid nipples.
“You know, we’ve fucked in the woods before.”
It was Soren’s turn to roll his eyes. “That was a special occasion, never to be repeated.” Still, he had to fight to suppress his smirk. There was nothing quite like vanquishing one’s enemy before getting dicked down by the man one loved. Even if therehadbeen trees involved. “I don’t know why we even said yes to this silly camping trip, anyway.”
“Yousaid yes because, as much as you love to be a total brat to yours truly, you’re incapable of breaking Jaybird’s heart,” Gabe pointed out. “And the little guy’s heart has been set on this trip for a long time.”
Soren didn’t dignify that bit of insight with a response. He wasn’tincapableof saying no to Jay; he just…didn’t like to, was all. It was a preference, not a compulsion. Christ. “I don’t know why he wants us there, anyway. You know he and Alexei just come out here to have wild, filthy sex in the dirt. Last time they came back, I was picking twigs out of his hair for days.”
“You don’t think—” Gabe broke off before finishing his sentence.
Soren finally glanced away from the window, ignoring the way his traitorous breath almost caught at the sight of him, his powerful hands on the steering wheel, his suntanned skin glowing in the morning light. It was almost unfair having such ahandsome mate. Or it would be, if Soren weren’t equally divine. “Don’t think what?”
Gabe cleared his throat. “Has Jay ever asked you if you’ve taken part in an orgy?”
Soren stared, entranced by the sight of Gabe’s cheeks flushing. He looked legitimately…nervous? Soren couldn’t help his snicker, the sound quickly giving way to an actual guffaw. “Oh my God, Highness. You really think Alexei is going to let anyone else get his hands on his preciouskotyonok?” He watched in fascination as Gabe’s shoulders visibly relaxed with his response. “Highness. Please. You didn’t actually think Jay was luring us out here for a vampire orgy?”
Gabe’s entire face was beet red now. Soren was tempted to take a photo, but he didn’t want to exit out of Gabe’s GPS. He wasnotgetting them lost in the woods.
“It’s not like I thought you’d go for it,” Gabe mumbled. “Filthy nature all around and everything—but it’s so hard to say no to Jay when he gets going about something.”
“I trust you’d find the strength,” Soren answered dryly.
And if Gabe couldn’t, Soren sure as hell would. Alexei wasn’t the only one who didn’t want anyone else’s hands on his mate.
He glanced down at the GPS. “The turn’s coming up.”
Gabe followed his instructions, and they traveled down an unmarked dirt road for a distressing amount of time, the bumps making Soren grind his teeth. The things he did for friendship.
It was bad enough Jay was dragging them into the wilderness, but Soren was going to have to stay in an actual tent, rest his primped and primed body on some pathetic sleeping pad, for fuck’s sake. Was there anything more degrading? Anything more—
