He doesn’t hesitate. Lining himself up, he pushes into me and pumps a few times before flipping onto his back. “Come here. I need you to ride me.”

In the past I would have made some kind of disparaging remark about myself, but Patrick wants me—I can see it in his eyes. I straddle his hips and lower myself onto his hard cock.

“Oh, fuck. Cassie, that feels so good.”

He rises with me as I rock against him, his hands covering my breasts, his thumbs rubbing my nipples. When he drops one hand and slips it between us, finding my clit, I gasp.

“That’s it. Come with me,” he says.

We pick up the pace as his fingers work me over. It doesn’t take long for the tension to build—I think we’re both on a knife’s edge as it is.

I detonate, closing my eyes, my whole body trembling.

He grabs my hips and pulls me down hard as he shouts out a moan.

And then we’re both panting as I roll off him, kissing, touching, just enjoying being naked together.

“I’m sorry that didn’t last longer. I just wanted you so much.”

“I seem to remember telling you that all we needed was practice.”

Patrick kisses me hard, cupping my cheek. “This time we get to do this more than once.”

“And no parents waiting up for us.”

He laughs. “No, we’re the parents now. How freaky is that?”

“Very.”

Despite wearing each other out, neither of us can sleep.

I’m lying with my back to him, and I close my eyes as he traces the scars on my back.

“I could make these go away, you know?”

His words make me smile.

“I’m sure you could. But I’m done with any surgery, and they don’t hurt. They’re a reminder what happened, and I don’t ever want to forget. The accident changed me—it forced me to grow up.”

He places gentle kisses down my spine. “I understand.”

“I’m so glad we ran into you at the hospital that day.”

Patrick tugs at my arm so I roll onto my back. He props himself up on his elbow to look at me.

“Me too. I never forgot you. There were times when I thought about searching, but I didn’t think you’d want me.”

I sigh. “I’m still not sure I would have let you explain.”

“Doesn’t matter now. We’re together. How many babies do you want to have?”

I burst into laughter. “Slow down. We only decided to get back together today.”

“It’s been a while inmyhead.” He kisses my temple. “I was just waiting for you to catch up.”

“Don’t get too far ahead of me.”

He drops down onto the bed and slides an arm over me. “I’ll try not to. But I am going to start looking at houses for us.”
