Zayden only laughed it off and wiggled the key to the room in his face. “Oh, just watch. By the time we go to leave, she won’t even charge us for the room.”

Zayden opened the door to our room and the two others went in quickly while I hung back, “You know I have the money for the room, if that’s what you’re worried about?”

Zayden’s face cocked to the side. “Are you jealous, my gem? You know- “

I cut him off before he could say another word. “No. I expected all of this.” And I meant that, but when I see him putting on his face and pretending so much, sometimes it makes me sad for him. “It doesn’t bother me… I just wanted to make sure you were ok with it.”

His eyes shined brightly at my admission and before I could take it back he took a step closer to me, keeping us out of sight from the others as he twirled a piece of my hair around his long lean finger. “She’s just a job like any other, but you, my gem, you are my destiny. Don’t forget that while I get us things we need by being flirty. None of them can compare to you and what I want from your body.” He emphasized this by looking down at my shoes, he bit his lip as his gaze traveled up slowly over my clothed body, making me feel naked in front of him.

I was trying desperately not to be panting at his attention. My fingers flexed as I wanted to touch his chest, roam my hands all over his body, feeling his muscles tighten at my touch, but my secrets kept me from going forward with my wants.

His lips tipped up, growing wider and wider as the seconds ticked by. Like he could see how fast my heart was pounding, how my body vibrated with need for him. I needed to either attack his lips or leave like I had a fire on my ass because I was getting into dangerous decision making time.

“Oh.” That was all I said before I twisted around and launched myself into the room before my body took over and I took him right there in the hallway.

This was going to be harder than I thought.

Chapter 10

Thatwomanwasawily one, but I couldn’t wait for my moment. I could feel it in the air, that palpable heat ready to burst. It was coming. The moment that I would need to be ready to take our relationship to the next level. To prove to her we are fated for each other.

I went through the door, smiling enough to not tip off the others with what had transpired. “So,” I rubbed my hands together, “hot springs sound nice before a long grueling trek across a land we know nothing about.”

Ajax huffed in agreement as he set his bag down in the furthest corner of the room. Rykon was sitting on the bed, looking around the room with an inspector’s eye. Emerald was digging through her bag, searching for something, but I had a feeling that she was using it as an excuse. An excuse so that she didn’t have to look at me. There’s no way that a woman like her didn’t know every item in her bag and where she put it. That made my insides leap and dance around, because that meant I was getting to her. Wearing her down.

She still hadn’t taken her eyes off the inside of her bag as she stated, “I think we should take turns. You three can go first and I will watch our stuff. After you all are done, I will go.”

“You really think that someone is going to steal our stuff?” Rykon asked, looking at his bag like that was the furthest thing from his mind, and he’s a thief.

She responded with, “Better safe than sorry.” Closing down any argument we could have. Still not looking up at us.

Ajax nodded, left his bag on the floor in the corner as he looked at Rykon and I, “Let’s get going. No need to take anything as she’s watching it.” He threw his head in her direction. His eyes caught her back with longing before he shook his head and went out the door.

Rykon nodded, mumbling out his thanks. He looked back at her, desire pooled in his eyes, but then he caught me watching him and he quirked his eyebrow at me, daring me to say something. But he wasn’t my concern. I smiled at him and he rolled his eyes as he left, too.

I quickly turned, intending to break my gem’s steadfast resolve, when I noticed her tense up, feeling my attention on her. I could feel her starting to build her imaginary walls as fast as she could. No, that wouldn’t work. I needed her to be in a relaxed state for my advancements. “Be back soon.” I called out, noticing her shoulders dropping and her muscles loosening.

Turning and walking out the door, I tried to think up my next plan because now was not the moment, but soon. I could feel it in my bones, and I wanted to make sure I was ready for it, able to see it when it arose. When she’s not wrapped up so tightly, ready to fight me, I will make my move. Just you wait, my gem, it’s not over yet.

I walked into the small bathhouse, following the other two that went to the left with a sign that said male and pointed in that direction. As soon as I entered, I stopped in my tracks, not expecting what I saw.

On the outside, this small building looked like a large shack. Wood paneling that looked worn down, roofing that looked in desperate need of repairs, and the surrounding ground had tall grass and weeds, looking like it needed a full grooming to be presentable. On the inside, it’s another story.

The room looked large, with big, square granite stones covering the floor and walls. Sconces lined the right side of the wall, lighting up the room as it got dark. Off to the right was a section that had stacks of towels, empty cutouts for your things, and a couple of stone benches to undress/redress. It’s sparse but also surprisingly nice.

The pool was off to the left side, with long, big steps leading into its depths. A faint sulfur smell in the air indicated it was a true hot spring. My muscles begged me to strip down and sink into its hot, healing goodness.

Ajax was already in the pool, sitting in the far corner acting like he couldn’t see or hear us. Typical. I sauntered over to the bench and sat down, watching from the corner of my eye as Rykon took off his pants, wrapping his shoes and shirt inside it and placing his belongings in one of the empty cutouts. I watched as he got into the pool, saying nothing, taking a different corner as he took Ajax’s cue of not speaking. Oh my fuck, this was going to be so boring. I guess I needed to liven it up.

I got up, shirt and shoes already off, as I got to the edge of the pool and hummed a tune as I slowly undressed myself. I envisioned being at the guild, doing a show, enticing the men and women with my body. Rolling my hips, I peeled my pants off. I’m so into the moment that I didn’t realize Rykon had gotten out of the pool and shoved me in, pants just barely off my body, seconds away from being drenched.

I broke through the surface, sputtering out the water around my face as I glared at Rykon. He’s back in his corner of the pool, laughing his head off at me. I heard a small snort coming from the other side of the pool and I knew Ajax had thought it was hilarious as well.

“That’s what you get for trying to be the center of attention all the time.” Rykon called out in between his laughter.

I stuck my chin out as I replied, “Joke’s on you. I did that to break the fucking tension in the room because you two idiots are being so incredibly boring and dull. Looks like I won since I succeeded there.” I stuck out my tongue at him, not caring that I looked like a child because I won. Nana nana boo boo.

“You thought shaking your dick at us would get us to what? Bond? That’s a fucking stupid idea.” Ajax scoffed, but I noticed he moved a couple of seats closer to us.
