“She knows,” Dorran tells him, and Jayce whirls on him in surprise.

“What the fuck?” he hisses. “You can’t just give out the kill names, Dorran! The hell iswrongwith you?”

Dorran grits his teeth and takes a step toward him. “Let’s not do this again, shall we? You know she’s an exception.”

Something in my chest tugs at his words, and when I glance at him, he subtly brushes a hand against mine.

“And if she rats us out?” Jayce questions. “Will shestillbe an exception?”

“Rat you out towho?” I find myself asking.

The boys look at me, and I scoff. “You think I give a shit about these people?” I say. “For everything they’ve been doing to those women, these elites deserve more than death. If anything, I’d like to help if I can.”

“What can you possibly assist us with?”

“Babe.” Alex glares at Jayce in warning.

“Guys.”

We divert our attention towards the voice, and find Varsha making her way to us.

“Tomas is here,” she informs, then gives me a curt nod. “Cignette.”

I give her a smile. “Hey.”

“What’s the status on him?” Dorran asks.

“He’s called Andres’s cell a couple of times, and appears a bit agitated,” Varsha says. “If we don’t move quickly, he might leave.”

Dorran nods, then bends to grab my clutch from the floor before handing it to me.

“You good to go back to the ballroom?” he asks me.

I take my clutch from him, then bite the inside of my cheek. “I kinda don’t want to,” I tell him, then suggest something that shocks not only him and the crew, but also myself.

“Can I…join you guys?”

Maybe it’s the lack of alcohol in my veins, or the high from the orgasm I just had. Or maybe it’s the cold around me that’s making me this bold. Either way, one thing’s for sure: I’ve lost my shit. Completely.

“Abso-fucking-lutely not,” Jayce says, at the same time Dorran chimes, “Fuck yeah.”

“Sweet baby Jesus,” Alex mutters, then runs a hand over his messy hair.

Varsha simply looks amused as she glances at everyone.

Dorran sighs and looks at me. “Stay here if you don’t wanna go back,” he tells me, then tilts his head to the side. “Alex and Varsha can keep you company while I’m gone. That sound okay?”

I fix the collars of his jacket and shirt, then give him a reluctant nod.

Maybe he’s right; maybe I should stay back. But wouldn’t it be great to witness what he does?

“You’ll stayrighthere, Cignette,” Dorran presses. “Understood?”

I click my tongue. “Loud and clear, sir.”

He fights a smile as he assesses me, so I rise on my tiptoes and press a kiss on his lips.

“Stay safe, okay?” I whisper.
