“Perhaps I should set up one of my dancing schools here,” she teased as she released her seatbelt.
Tyler laughed again. “I’ll get you a slot.”
Kaiya giggled and helped her daughter out of the car. Tyler reached for his construction helmet at the backseat and put it on. She also noticed that he had on his special work boots. Just the sight of him in his work gear turned her on. He looked every inch an architect holding site plans.
Kaiya noticed that immediately they stepped into the building, several men also wearing similar helmets to Tyler quickly walked up to them and shook hands with him. The whole place was quite noisy with several equipment in use. Tyler introduced her and Lili to the site foreman.
“Wait. Did you design this?” Kaiya asked after gawking at the place with wondrous eyes. Tyler had told her earlier that it would have ten floors. The building itself had the shape of a pentagon.
He nodded. “Let me show you girls around.”
With her daughter’s hand in hers, Kaiya allowed Tyler lead the way around the uncompleted building. When they got upstairs, Kaiya saw Finn at a distance and waved at him. He nodded at them with a bright smile across his face and crossed the plane to reach them.
“Hi, Kaiya,” Finn said when he got to them and hugged her. He squatted and hugged Lili, too. “Hi, Lili.”
Lili smiled shyly at him. “Hi, Finn.”
Finn shook hands with Tyler before turning towards Kaiya and saying, “Came to see Tyler in action?”
Kaiya blushed and smiled. “It’s spectacular.”
Finn nodded. “It is, isn’t it?”
Tyler led them away after a brief discussion with Finn. Kaiya had her eyes engorged the whole time Tyler took her around the place. He showed her where various luxury stores would be situated, valet parking, fountains and gardens, helipad, place for a live band, a cinema, a casino, showrooms, auto saloons, and so on.
Kaiya saw another side to Tyler which she greatly admired. She saw how different he was with his employees. Although he was quite demanding, he was also fair. She enjoyed listening to him interact with his employees. He asked about the health of one of his employee’s wife who was at the hospital, as well as another employee who was ill.
As he took her and Lili around the place, Kaiya had to admit that Tyler was indeed a very good architect. She couldn’t wait to see the building when it was completed. They said their goodbyes to Finn and walked to the car.
“Thanks for bringing me here, Ty. It was wonderful. You do know your onions,” Kaiya commented when she settled herself on the car seat beside him.
“Dad, I want to be the first person to visit the place when it’s completed,” Lili cut in from the back seat.
Her parents laughed.
“Sure, Pumpkin. Anything you want,” Tyler promised, winking at her from the rear-view mirror.
He drove them to a nice restaurant around the corner where they all had a wonderful time.

Later on that week, Kaiya was surprised when Tyler asked her to accompany him to Lili’s school for a parent-teacher conference. She was glad that he thought to include her, when he didn’t have to. It was one thing to have their family and the people closest to them know that she was Lili’s mom, but she can’t help but feel this meeting would make it official.
She cleared her schedule and asked on of her on call teachers to cover her afternoon classes. She stood at the entrance of Lili’s school and nervously rubbed her hands together. For a moment she wondered if she needed to change, regretting the fact that almost her entire wardrobe seemed to consist of sweatshirts and leggings, but she threw the idea away. This meeting was about Lili and not about how her new found mother wore.
Remembering what Tyler had said about her hair, she removed the band from her hair, letting it flow down her neck. Not a moment too soon, he pulled up into the parking lot and she got into the car and shot him a playful look.
“You’re late,” she grinned at him.
He grinned back, “Traffic babe,” and went back to navigating the road while her heart skipped a few hundred beats.
He called her babe!
She wondered if the dynamics of their relationship had changed. Sex was one thing and amazing as it was, she was finding it hard to get into the flow of a romantic relationship.
It was more complicated than her most complicated dance move and that was saying a lot. They had Lili to consider this time around.
She kept quiet throughout the ride, lost in her thoughts and Tyler didn’t press her, only tapping her hand lightly when they were in the school’s parking lot.
