To quiet, but I welcomed the peace. Things were far from over; the other families were demanding that something be done about Alistair, and they were looking to me for answers. I had none to give them at the moment. Alistair was a sneaky snake crawling about the under bellies of either New York or Atlanta. Hell, he could have been in Miami for all that I knew. I just knew that as long as he was breathing, he could change things around for me.
Thoughts of Tiberius darted into my head. I could see him beginning to smile in my head, little droplets of drool dripping as he struggled to keep his head up.
My heart squeezed in my chest.I loved that boy.
“I’m here,” I heard a voice say.
Lucia stood off to my left dressed all in leather, and red lipstick adorned her pouty lips. It had been nearly a year since I’d seen her. Her hair had been gathered into a long ponytail that reached nearly into the center her back. Once upon a time that had been hair I’d wound around my fist while I fucked the life out of her.
“Should we have a drink first?” I asked.
“This is one of the last favors I’ll ever do for you,” she smirked.
“You’ve been saying that for a lot of years now,” I shrugged turning to the bartender who was waiting.
I ordered two whiskeys, one with a splash of soda for Lucia. She took her seat the bar and I sat down too.
“You look amazing,” I told her, my hand reached out for her sitting on the bar.
She smirked and our drinks arrived. The whiskey glided down my throat and I watched as she sipped hers. She began to look around and finally asked.
“Where’s your wife?”
“Home,” I replied.
She smirked again. “I figured she’d have you on a leash or some shit.”
“Don’t go telling me you’re concerned for my wellbeing or some shit like that.”
“I’m not.”
Our glasses were almost empty when I invited her into the back office. The back office where there was a couch. I leaned against the desk, and she sat down pensively on the couch looking around. A neon light that had been fashioned into a giant sparkling diamond was casting a pink glow all across the place.
“So do you have the information I asked for?”
Lucia had gotten another drink and brought it back with her. Tensely, we watched each other. There was still some sexual tension between us, and we could both feel it. A knock came on the door, and I wanted to yell go away. It caused me to break eye contact.
Storming over to the door, I found one of the bouncers. “Boss, there’s a situation out here.”
“What?”
“One of the waitresses, Sam, she overdosed in the bathroom,” Laz handed over a baggie. “You said if we found any with this stamp let you know.”
I took the tiny bag that had contained coke at some point and shoved it into my slacks. “Take care of the mess.”
Closing the door, I turned back to Lucia who was sitting patiently. “Where were we?”
“You were probably about to ask why I wasn’t naked yet.”
She picked up the drink and took a sip.
“And why aren’t you?”
She tilted her head. “Thierry, you’re married.”
“She…doesn’t want me in that way,” I let the words drop where they may.
“Don’t the two of you have a child?”
