“And now we are facing the repercussions of that insane line of people.”Kirill shook his head.“From one of them that we never even met.”
Sergi agreed with this, “Lionel, Logan and Lincon were bad inside and out.So this LaDonna could be far worse.”He then looked back at his team.“We have faith in the people in this room.I know they will unravel LaDonna’s mess.”
“Do you really believe that?”Pride wanted to know.
“We do.We’ve been here before, Mr.Pride,” Yuri replied.“Maybe not accused of this, but we have had many battles.”
“Da, I believe it as well,” Sergi growled.“No one will ever beat the Bratva, not on our home turf and believe me when I say this might not be Russian soil but we have a foothold here in this country that no one will ever take away from us.”
Pride and his men all nodded at him.They already knew some of what the Bratva was all about.They felt like this LaDonna did not stand a chance.
Chapter Six
Near the Metairie areain New Orleans
The next morning ten men filed into a warehouse in neutral territory.
Sergi, Yuri, Pride, Serenity, and Kirill were already there, waiting for everyone else to arrive.
Sasha, Rage and Candyman stood at the doors to pat down the men who came through for weapons.They were also bodyguards.
Felix stood next to Sergi as protection.While Kirill stood by Serenity for the same reason.
Every faction leader took their seats and many sat there while silently staring at the Russians.They all acted tense and remained silent.Some held looks of contempt while a few looked a bit afraid.
Sergi waited until everyone was settled then he stood and addressed the group, “I know this meeting was last minute but I want you to know that I am glad you are all here, even if you are not.I think it is time we all got together and discussed what is really going on here in the city.Tension is high right now and it has been building for some time.”
Several of the leaders began grumbling and whispering under their breaths.
Sergi had to hold his hands up to quiet the mounting noise.“Just listen to us for a moment.We are here to explain an issue that we just discovered.”
None of them replied.Some looked uncomfortable.Some looked leery.
Sergi glanced over at Yuri who was shaking his head.He then looked around.“We just found out that someone has been extorting money from all of you.”
“Oh?Someone?”One of the men there scoffed.“I’ve been paying your demands for almost ten years now and I’m tired of it.”
