Sophie
Even though Iwas deliciously eaten out yesterday, it hasn’t satisfied my hunger for him. He must be getting himself off somewhere, otherwise he would be walking around with a boner twenty-four-seven. After our morning run, I speak to the manager at my club, who jokingly tells me, yet again, everything is fine.
I sit in Viper’s room, blankly staring at my laptop screen. I need to figure out what will make him cave. What would it take to make him throw his manipulative ways to the wind and finally have sex with me? Well… he didn’t want the massage therapist’s hands on me. Maybe jealousy is my way out.
My phone rings. I pick it up from the bed, glance at the screen, and bring it to my ear. “Hello, Lawson.”
“Hey… how’s the wilderness?”
“I haven’t come across any wild animals yet, though they keep a dog here that’s the size of a mountain lion.”
He laughs. “How’s Viper?”
“A literal pain in my vagina.”
“Eww, Sophie… I never want to hear that word coming out of your mouth again.”
I grin. “What have you been up to?”
“I just got back last night from the international whiskey competition. My whiskey placed first in the Whiskey of the Year category.”
“Congratulations!” I beam. I’m so proud of him. Even though the whiskey distillery has been in our family for generations, it wasn’t until Lawson started to manage it and perfect the recipe and the process that it started to get the recognition it deserves.
“I was planning a party tonight to celebrate.”
“I’ll be there,” I’m quick to reply. “Where are you thinking of having it?”
“Here at the resort, in the event room, seven p.m.”
“Do you need me to organize anything for you?” I offer.
“No, I’ll get the event planner to organize it. You can invite Viper, Bomber, and Zara if you want.”
“Sure… Can you book my normal room at the resort so that me, Zara, and the guys can drink and go back to the room afterward?”
“I can do that. See you tonight, sis.”
I call Zara, knowing she’ll be at the charity.
“Hello,” she answers.
“Are you and Bomber free tonight? My brother is celebrating his win at the international whiskey competition. He came first in one of the categories.”
She gasps. “That’s amazing. Count us in.”
“I’ve organized a room each for us to stay in case the men want to drink.”
“Sounds great. I’m excited!”
My smile beams. “Me too!”
“What time?”
“At seven,” I answer.
“Would you like for us to travel together?” Zara asks.
“Yes, that would be easier.”
