After getting off the phone, I hear loud cracks coming from outside. The men must be having target practice or something.
When I go downstairs, Cash is placing bottles of beer in the bar fridge and spirits up on the cabinets. I wander over to him, and because I’m in a mood, I decide to annoy him.
“Hello, Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome. Can I have a whiskey and cola?”
He turns to me with a smile. “Sure.” He really is handsome, with his dark features, trimmed beard, and easygoing smile.
He picks up another whiskey brand. “No, no. Crown Village whiskey. My brother just got awarded first place in the international whiskey awards for it.”
His brows lift, and he grasps the Crown Village whiskey instead. “That’s awesome.” After pouring a shot, the cola is next. “I didn’t know you’re a big drinker,” he says with a tinge of amusement.
I laugh. “I try to eat healthy and exercise, but I also like my drinking… it’s all about balance.” Well… that’s what I tell myself.
He places my drink in front of me. My eyes wander around his chest. His white fitted shirt fits snugly, with his leather cut over the top.
“Straw?”
He cocks his head. “We don’t have any.”
“Well… you better put that on the grocery list. Have you ordered my ol’ lady’s cut yet?” I ask teasingly.
He subtly shakes his head, with the touch of a smile on his face. “Viper hasn’t requested it.”
I bring the drink to my lips and take a sip, enjoying the smooth rich flavor. “But I have!”
He slowly raises his hands. “Only patched members can request them.”
I quirk my brow.
“Don’t shoot the messenger!” he says playfully.
That makes me smile. “Where are the women?”
“Ava’s at college. Elena and Axle went out for the day, and Zara is at the charity.”
“Do you have a woman?”
His head inches back, and there’s a stiffness in his body I haven’t seen before.
“What? Am I not allowed to ask personal questions?”
“No… I don’t have one.” His voice is void of emotion.
His response makes me curious. I’m surprised someone hasn’t snatched him up. “Did you ever meetthe one?”
There’s a tightness in his jaw.Oops, I’ve hit a nerve. But I have so many questions, I can’t stop myself.“I’ll take that as a yes. Where is she?” Knowing he’s been in the military… he would be in his twenties. “Let me guess, high school sweetheart?”
With a set jaw, he wipes down the counter. “Something like that.”
Viper struts toward us with the cocky grin that I love. His mix of confidence and sex appeal makes me squirm in my seat.Far out—I need to get laid.He takes a seat next to me. His eyes are bouncing between me and Cash, then linger on Cash a little longer.
Viper is quite observant because he frowns then looks at me. “What did you say to him?” he asks accusingly.
Cash lets out an uncomfortable chuckle. “It’s all good.”
“Wifey…” Viper warns.
“What?” I ask super sweetly.
