She’s way too good for me. “I know I did.” I’m proud to call her my wife.

“How’d you get her to marry you?”

“It was a wild night. Plenty of drinking, flirting, and dancing. The sex and everything else was…” I let out a low whistle, thinking back to that night. “Sweetest pussy I’ve ever tasted.”

“How did being with her one night make you change?”

I drift off, thinking. “I’ve never craved to get to know a woman like I have with her. I guess drunk me figured getting hitched was my best chance at hanging on to her.” The thought makes me swallow hard. I could be setting myself up for failure, but I think she’s worth the risk.

I walk outside to see Zara and Bomber at the table with Reaper, Elena, and Axle. As I get closer, Axle turns to me, and his eyes light up. I can already tell he’s going to be a smartass.

“You signed those divorce papers yet?” Axle asks.

My lips curve up into a wide smile. “No…”

Bomber shakes his head at me. “I thought Alec would be on your case about divorcing, but he told me Sophie dug her grave—she can get herself out of it. Their father, Garrett, is a different matter. No one has told him yet, so I’d just sign them and get it over with. He’s a prick and can cause problems…” Bomber looks at Reaper. “Problems for everyone.”

“You know how persuasive I am, and I’m sure her father will want her to stay in Crown Village with him.”

“Yours is going down as the shortest marriage in the MC’s history.”

“We’ll see,” I snap back confidently at Axle.

He chuckles, and when I stand next to him, he whacks my back. “What are you going to do?”

“As I said to Rage inside, Sophie has to come back here so that I can talk to her face to face.”

He searches my eyes. “What exactly are you planning to do? Hold her hostage?”

Just the thought of her being back makes my heart pump faster, sending a thrill through my body. “Bondage isn’t my thing… that’s Cash’s. I’m going to make Sophie an offer she can’t refuse.”

My phone rings in my back pocket. I pull it out to see Sophie calling.

“Hello, wifey,” I tease. There are deep chuckles around the table.

Sophie growls. “I’m not your wife!”

“The marriage certificate says otherwise,” I say through a smile, thoroughly enjoying this back and forth between us. I’m stubborn, and I won’t budge.

“Because you won’t sign the divorce papers.” Her voice gets higher toward the end.

“Oh, well… I told you my conditions.”

“Oh… I know. Luckily, I’m on my way to Crown Village. I’ll be at the clubhouse tonight with the divorce papers, so you had better keep your word and sign it.”

My smile grows…I don’t think so…

There’sa War Brothers MC party on. The music is pumping, and we’re sitting around the fire, enjoying the warmth, drinking, with the flames high in the air. Elena and Axle, Reaper and Ava, and Zara and Bomber are all out together as couples, so it’s just us single boys and the sweet butts hanging out.

“Viper,” Twitch calls out.

“Yeah,” I reply.

He looks down at his phone, then back at me. “There’s a limousine out front. I assume it’s your wife.” Twitch has the security system linked up to his phone.

A shiver makes its way down my back. I’ve never experienced this level of anxiety around a woman before. I put down my beer. It’s showtime!
