“How was the sex?” Piper asks.

“I woke up sore and my vajayjay was tender. The flashbacks I’ve been getting…” I fan my face. “So hot!”

Her grin stretches wide. “That’s another positive… What did your brothers say about getting married?” she asks.

“Harrison and Lawson were amused.”

She quirks a brow. “And Alec?”

I roll my eyes. “He told me how irresponsible I was. He didn’t need to rub it in.” I frown. “I’ve tried so hard over the years to prove to my family I’m more than just a model.”

Her face falls. She puts a hand on my leg. “You’re so much more than just a model. You don’t have to prove your worth to anyone.”

BLACKMAIL NEVER TASTED SO GOOD

I swipemy hand over my sweaty forehead. I’m panting as I step back into the house with Rage after our morning run. When my phone beeps, Sophie’s name is on the screen. This must be message number two hundred thirty-one, and I already know what it’s going to say before I open it.Sign the divorce papers blah blah blah. Rage walks over to the fridge and passes me a bottle of cold water. I twist the cap off and gulp down the cool fluid.

I let out a sigh. “I needed that.”

Candy dashes over to me and rubs a hand down my chest and my abs. As horny as I am, I take a step back, pulling my shirt out of the hem of my pants and slipping it back on. Candy looks away, then steps over to me and stands on her toes to whisper in my ear. “You must be horny; we haven’t had sex since you left for Vegas.”

I chuckle. “I am, but…” I lift my hand up, showing my wedding ring.

Candy stiffens. “It means nothing, though. Doesn’t she want you to sign the divorce papers?”

I don’t know how my marriage is the topic of conversation around here. I shrug indifferently. Wifey can email, call, message threatening me as much as she wants with divorce papers, but I ain’t signing shit till she gets her sweet ass back to Crown Village so that I can talk to her face to face. “I’m still married, and until I get a divorce, I’m not cheating.” Who knew… me married, ha! She was the woman everyone wanted. I was the lucky son of a bitch who conned her into being my wife.

Candy sighs. “But you’re not really in a relationship, so how is it cheating?”

Technically, she’s probably right, but on the slight chance I have a shot with Sophie, I’m not doing anything that might screw that up. “I like Sophie, so I’m not risking it.” I’m honest with Candy, but it’s like my words never penetrate.

“Oh…” Her mouth curves down and her body droops.

I cup her chin and lift her face so that her eyes meet mine. She’s a lovely gal… she’s just not for me. “Don’t frown, pretty girl. There are other single guys here.”

Candy takes a step away from me and fakes a smile before walking off. I can’t help but feel bad for her, even though I told her we weren’t serious. Maybe I shouldn’t have slept with her for so long. I guess the change from the person I was before Vegas to who I am now, suddenly married and loyal to my wife who I spent one night with, has been drastic.

“Don’t feel guilty,” Rage says.

I run a hand through my hair. “I told Candy it was casual. Heck, I’ve slept with other people and she never said anything.”

“Maybe she thought she was going to bethe one.”

I shake my head. “She never listens to me. There are other guys here. Why don’t you spend some time with her? You’re single.”

He takes a step back, lifting his hands in protest. “No… I don’t want the drama.”

“You haven’t liked anyone since Ashton’s girlfriend Mia.” Rage got into a fight with Ashton over a chick. Ashton used to fight in our illegal fighting ring but quit because he fell in love.

Rage’s eyes narrow slightly. “I didn’t know they were together when I liked Mia and, again… I don’t want drama. I’m happy fighting in the ring and doing what I have to for the club. What are you going to do about your wife?”

That puts a grin back on my face. “I’m waiting for Sophie to come back to see me in person. Judging from the daily messages and phone calls, I sense it will happen soon.”

“You scored with her. She’s a ten.”
